Hyundai Autoever Presents Software Development Experience at HMG Developer Conference
Vehicle software weight and complexity ↑… Software quality verification importance ↑ Hyundai Autoever developers participated in the '2nd HMG Developer Conference' hosted by Hyundai Motor Group and presented their vehicle software development experiences.
Hyundai Autoever announced on the 18th that it had held an offline keynote presentation on virtual verification technology for vehicle SW quality innovation and shared development experiences gained in various fields of mobility tech.
Kim Seong-woon, Managing Director of the SW Quality Innovation Division, and Kim Beom-seop, Team Leader of the Verification Solution Development Team, explained the virtual verification technology for vehicle control software and the virtual verification platform developed by Hyundai Autoever in their keynote presentations.
Virtual verification technology is a technology that virtualizes vehicles, systems, and controllers and provides virtual driving environments and verification tools, allowing functional verification, functional linkage verification, and system unit verification to be performed virtually without hardware.
In the car As the proportion of software increases, its complexity increases, and the importance of software quality verification grows, it is attracting attention as a technology for improving verification efficiency.
By utilizing virtual verification technology, tests can be conducted by simulating various environments compared to physical controller/vehicle-based verification, and more tests can be conducted simultaneously or at an accelerated rate, which can significantly increase the scope and speed of quality verification.
Regarding the virtual verification technology, Managing Director Kim Seong-woon said, “Virtual verification technology is an essential technology for effectively and efficiently securing vehicle perfection in the SDV era,” and added, “We hope to be able to improve the quality of the group’s vehicle software through the virtual verification platform.”
Hyundai Autoever's virtual verification platform virtualizes various elements required for virtual verification, such as sensor models, virtual controllers, actuator models, vehicle dynamics models, and road environment models, and can verify through integrated simulation that there are no abnormalities in each element itself and the interactions between elements.
In this presentation, Team Leader Kim Beom-seop demonstrated how utilizing a virtual verification platform can revolutionize vehicle software quality through a variety of test scenarios.
He expressed his ambition, saying, “Hyundai Autoever will gradually advance the virtual verification platform and expand its scope of application and functions.”
In addition to the keynote presentation, Hyundai Autoever shared its software development know-how inside and outside of vehicles through 10 online sessions.
Development cases that reflect the latest development trends, such as '△CI/CD application case in vehicle electrical SW platform △Digital key global service deployment case based on MSA architecture', attracted the attention of many developers.
Meanwhile, the HMG Developer ConferenceThis event, which began in 2021 and is now in its second year, is an event where Hyundai Motor Group developers gather to share development know-how, and is held in a format that combines on-site and online presentations.
Conference presentations, including Hyundai Autoever’s presentation, can be viewed again on the HMG Developer Conference website.
