Hanjayeon, Saudi Arabia sign 4-party MOU to create hydrogen mobility ecosystem
Four organizations establish partnership to build and develop Saudi hydrogen mobility ecosystem The Korea Automobile Research Institute (KARI) is taking the lead in creating a hydrogen mobility ecosystem in Saudi Arabia together with Hyundai Motor Group (Hyundai Motor), Air Products Korea (AP Qudra), and SAPTCO.
On the 23rd, President Na Seung-sik of Hanjayeon, President Jang Jae-hoon of Hyundai Motor Company, Ebubekir Koyuncu, CEO of AP Qudra, and Khalid Al-Zarani, CEO of SAPTCO, announced that they signed a 'Business Agreement for Establishment and Development of Saudi Arabia's Hydrogen Mobility Ecosystem' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 22nd (local time).
AP Qudra is a Middle East development and investment company jointly owned by US-based global industrial gases company Air Products and Saudi energy startup Quadra Energy, while SAPTCO is Saudi Arabia's public bus operator that operates international, intercity, and city buses.
Through this MOU, the four organizations will establish an organic cooperative relationship to build and develop a hydrogen mobility ecosystem in Saudi Arabia and continue various collaborations, such as providing technical services and human resources to expand the supply of hydrogen mobility.
Specifically, △Hydrogen mobility ecosystem The plan is to ▲promote a hydrogen electric bus demonstration project, ▲discover opportunities for cooperation in government-supported research programs related to hydrogen mobility, and ▲exchange information related to hydrogen mobility.
In particular, Hanjayeon will discover small and medium-sized Korean companies and support their participation in Saudi Arabia's hydrogen mobility expansion project and participate in collecting empirical data on hydrogen mobility.
In addition, we plan to actively expand opportunities for hydrogen mobility R&D cooperation, including human resource development and research.
Na Seung-sik, president of Hanjayun, said, “The mutual cooperation agreement for building a hydrogen mobility ecosystem with Hyundai Motor Company, Air Products Quadra, and SAPTCO has created an opportunity for domestic hydrogen bus technology to advance into the Middle Eastern market,” and added, “Going forward, we will work with automakers and auto parts companies to develop hydrogen buses suitable for Saudi Arabia’s high-temperature climate environment so that they can serve as a bridgehead for the domestic automobile industry to advance into overseas markets.”
