Supernal to unveil new UAM airframe design at CES2024.
Supernal, the U.S. urban air mobility (UAM) subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, announced on the 20th that it will participate for the first time in 'CES 2024' to be held in Las Vegas, USA early next year, and released a teaser image of a new UAM aircraft.
At CES2024, Supernal will unveil the design of the UAM aircraft currently in development, aiming for commercialization in 2028, and exhibit the actual-size aircraft.
The design and styling of the aircraft to be unveiled at CES 2024 is the result of close collaboration between Supernal and the Hyundai Motor Company-Kia Global Design Center.
All engineering and integrated airframe design was handled by Supernal, while the interior and exterior styling was handled by the Hyundai Motor Company-Kia Global Design Headquarters under the leadership of Hyundai Motor Company-Kia Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke.
Also, the future AAM (Advanced Air Mob) drawn by SupernalThe company plans to present a strategy for building an ecosystem for future aviation mobility (AAM). AAM is a comprehensive concept that includes UAM.
Supernal's AAM strategy announcement includes details on the roles that Supernal and Hyundai Motor Group intend to play across the AAM ecosystem, including aircraft operations and vertiports.
From Tuesday, January 9 to Friday, January 12, during the exhibition period, Supernal will set up a separate exhibition hall reminiscent of a vertiport outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, where visitors can experience what it's like to actually use UAM.
The announcement of Supernal's AAM ecosystem strategy and the unveiling of the new UAM airframe design will be held at the 'Supernal CES Media Day Event' held at the Supernal exhibition hall on January 9 (local time).
Meanwhile, in Korea, the K-UAM Grand Challenge, a government-level public-private cooperative demonstration project, is being promoted with the goal of commercialization in early 2025.
