DSRC·C-V2X version V2X communication device 'V2X-AIR' exhibited SIRIUS draws attention with support for 5G V2X sidelink communication standards
Etifos was invited to the 5GAA international event as an association designated event, exhibiting its V2X solutions and attracting the attention of experts from around the world.
At the '26th 5GAA F2F Meeting Week' held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido from the 8th to the 11th, Etiforce exhibited 'V2X-AIR', a V2X communication device with two versions of DSRC and LTE-based C-V2X, and a 5G V2X sidelink platform.
“V2X AIR is a much smaller device than traditional OBUs,” said Sunmin Soo, Etiforce researcher. “Customers can select the V2X messages they want through APIs.”

The message selected by the customer is linked to the smartphone via BLE, and the smartphone application is either developed by the customer or provided by Etiphos. It was added that its small size makes it suitable for use in VRU.
The demo displayed that day was optimized for emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances.
The device, Etiforce installed in an emergency vehicle, is configured to send a signal so that messages can be displayed in surrounding regular vehicles.
In addition, it can send and receive messages to help drivers travel safely and efficiently through various messages such as road construction, cleaning, and snow removal.
The processor of this device is NXP i.MX 8XL and the OS uses Linux.
Researcher Sun said, “Software updates through smartphones“We can save costs by not using V2X terminals through dating,” he said, highlighting its advantages.
On this day, Etifos also exhibited SIRIUS, a communication solution and communication equipment that supports the 5G V2X sidelink communication standard.

It is a platform that can implement and verify the 5G V2X application services and use cases that customers ultimately want, and Etiforce provides the customer-friendly API required to transmit and receive application service data through Sirius.
Maxime Flamand, CTO of 5GAA, said, “Etiforce is a very innovative member of 5GAA, and we have also been impressed by their 5G V2X prototype platform on display at today’s event. We believe that Etiforce’s efforts and achievements will accelerate the deployment of 5G V2X, and we look forward to the future.”
