2023 Responsible Management Report Issued, Solar Power, ESS Expansion, Refrigerant Reduction
Vertiv, a company specializing in core digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has joined the company's responsible sustainability activities, including expanding renewable energy solutions to reduce global warming and reducing greenhouse gases.
Vertiv announced on the 20th that it had published the '2023 Responsible Business Report'.
The report details progress in key areas and outlines the company’s “One Vertiv, One World” vision to advance environmental management principles, foster a safe, inclusive and participatory corporate culture and deliver responsible business.
In 2023, Vertiv continues to advance its vision for a more sustainable future, focusing on efficient products and systems, socially responsible management, employees, communities, supply chain integrity, and governance.
Key highlights include expanding the offering of high-efficiency liquid cooling solutions and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, and acquiring CoolTera Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of high-efficiency liquid cooling solutions, adding advanced cooling expertise, controls, and systems.
Equipped with lithium ion battery We have launched a new battery energy storage system (BESS) to help reduce carbon emissions by enabling greater use of distributed alternative energy resources such as solar panels, wind turbines and hydrogen fuel cells, and we have installed a microgrid solution at our new customer experience center in Delaware, Ohio, USA, which we operate as a test bed to demonstrate carbon emission reduction solutions to customers.
We have introduced Vertiv™ TimberMod™, which uses massive timber as the primary structural material instead of steel in our prefabricated modular (PFM) data center solutions, minimizing resource depletion and reducing the carbon footprint of our products.
We also published a Guide to Data Center Sustainability, which provides updated statistics and other relevant information to help Vertiv customers and other stakeholders.
It also includes an update on Vertiv’s operational efficiency efforts to track and monitor the company’s key environmental impacts and improve processes to streamline the collection of metrics related to carbon emissions, energy consumption, water usage, waste generation and recycling.
A notable example is the facility water regeneration system in Monterrey, Mexico. The system reduces reliance on the city's water supply by recovering water from air conditioning units used to cool the facility and converting it into water that can be used for other purposes.
We also present examples of the impact Vertiv has on local communities.
This report demonstrates Vertiv’s commitment to supply chain integrity as we strive to meet leading industry standards for responsible minerals, human rights and labor conditions.
“As we continue to strive to be a responsible global corporate citizen, we are providing products and services that help our customers achieve their environmental sustainability goals,” said Giordano Albertazzi, Vertiv CEO. “As demand for artificial intelligence (AI) grows rapidly worldwide, Vertiv is providing the infrastructure products, systems and services that enable our customers to advance their AI initiatives with superior performance while reducing environmental impact.”
