Implementing Find My Device and Unknown Tracker Alert Services

Nordic Semiconductor, a global leader in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, has announced that Android embedded development is now possible through its 'nRF Connect SDK', which is expected to increase development convenience for developers using Nordic's 'nRF Connect SDK' in the future.
Nordic announced today that it is working with Google to provide embedded developer software that enables implementation of Google's 'Find My Device' network and 'Unknown Tracker Alerts' service through its nRF Connect Software Development Kit (SDK).
Nordic’s announcement comes as Google announced it would be embracing Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth LE) tracking as a standard technology for Android mobile devices.
Nordic’s SDK is now officially supported in time for the consumer launch of its Find My Device and Unknown Tracker Alert services.
“Nordic is Google’s design partner, and we are excited to work with Google to help them deliver the best possible experience,” said Kjetil Holstad, Nordic’s senior vice president of strategy and product management.“We are very pleased to announce support for the nRF Connect SDK alongside the launch of Nordic’s Find My Device network and Unknown Tracker Alerts service,” says Nordic’s Ericsson. “This is a significant development for Nordic as it enables our nRF52 and nRF53 Series customers to build innovative Device Finding products for the global Android ecosystem. Several of our key partners have already launched commercial solutions leveraging the built-in support in this SDK, with others following shortly.”
“The power and efficiency benefits of Nordic’s nRF52 Series SoCs enabled us to seamlessly integrate our product into Google’s Find My Devices network,” says Jure Zdovc, CTO at Chipolo. “Nordic’s nRF52 Series ensures optimal performance and reliability for the Chipolo Finder, enabling users to easily locate their belongings via both the Chipolo Finder and Google’s Find My Devices network.”
“Working with Nordic Semiconductor, we’re changing the future of the tracking industry with each new device we release,” says Pebblebee Founder and CEO Daniel Daoura. “Nordic and Pebblebee’s technology, designed to integrate seamlessly into Google’s Find My Devices network, is more than just a partnership; it’s a leap forward in embedding tracking technology into virtually anything, creating an ecosystem of infinite possibilities.” “We have entered a world where everything can be found,” he said.
Embedded developer software supported by the nRF Connect SDK enables third-party device manufacturers to implement products that take advantage of Google’s Find My Device network and Unidentified Tracker Alert service.
Several of Nordic’s key partners have already implemented device finding products using the commercial nRF52 Series that are compatible with Google services ahead of Google’s official launch.
