39% of downtime caused by power outages… Smooth operation and financial impact must be mitigated
Cost savings possible with Infineon power monitoring solutions Infineon Technologies (hereafter Infineon) announced on the 21st Power System Reliability Modeling that addresses problems that occur in data centers and communication infrastructure systems due to power supply failures.
With power outages accounting for 39% of downtime and costing an average of $687,700 per downtime, there is an urgent need to ensure smooth operations and mitigate the financial impact.
By integrating Infineon’s power monitoring solutions, companies can increase operational resilience, reduce their carbon footprint and achieve significant cost savings.
The solution integrates software and hardware, consisting of algorithms running on a digital power controller.
This is in line with Infineon's strategy to provide customers with comprehensive system solutions that include both semiconductor devices and software tools.
This solution is suitable for DCDC converters, ACDC rectifiers and IBC modules used in data centers, AI servers, GPUs and communication networks.
Power system reliability modeling serves as a bridge between component and system reliability.
<br /> This solution enables real-time power supply condition monitoring and lifetime prediction of the system based on dynamic system operating parameters, power supply system models and reliability prediction procedures in Infineon's digital power controllers.
It also ensures improved device utilization and data-driven maintenance recommendations, which lead to improved profitability and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).
Customers benefit from real-time system diagnostics for their power supplies, as well as decision-making and quality assurance based on robust system reliability.
This solution is easy to use and can be integrated into existing designs.
“Power system reliability modeling is critical to Infineon and our customers to ensure stable and reliable power supply in data centers,” said Adam White, President of Infineon’s Power and Sensor Systems business line. “Following our product-to-system approach, this solution focuses on delivering hardware with advanced software capabilities that not only extend the capabilities and scope of our products, but also help our customers create more value and scale their businesses faster.”
