Samsung Electronics has responded proactively to the demand for high-performance and high-capacity microSD cards by introducing terabyte-class microSD cards.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that it has released two types of high-capacity 1TB (terabyte) microSD cards, 'PRO Plus' and 'EVO Plus'.

This product implements terabyte-level high capacity by packaging 8-layer 1Tb (terabit) TLC (Triple Level Cell) 8th generation V-NAND, the industry's highest capacity, and enhances product durability.

Samsung Electronics' 'PRO Plus' and 'EVO Plus' lineups, first released in 2015, are microSD cards that feature △capacity △speed △stability △compatibility, and are the optimal solutions for users who require high performance and high capacity.

△Compatible with all devices with a microSD card slot, including game consoles, drones, action cameras, and tablets, making it suitable for a variety of users, including creators and gamers.

With this new product launch, both the 'PRO Plus' and 'EVO Plus' have doubled their maximum capacities from 512GB (gigabytes) to 1TB, and the two products offer sequential read speeds of up to 180MB (megabytes) per second and 160MB per second, respectively.

1TB capacity is 2.3MB 4K UHD resolutionIt is expected to provide an optimal environment for creators and console game users who handle large files, as it can store over 400,000 unknown files or 45 console games of 20GB each.

The 'PRO Plus' and 'EVO Plus' 1TB products feature improved power efficiency through a 28nm controller, reducing battery consumption.

Another strength is that the size of LDPC (Low Density Parity Check), a type of 'ECC (Error Correction Code) engine', has been improved from 1KB to 2KB, minimizing data loss and increasing product reliability.

The 'PRO Plus' and 'EVO Plus' 1TB products are rated UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), Video Speed Class 30 (V30), and A2, enabling fast data loading and multitasking.

In addition, it has been verified for six items including waterproofing, heat resistance, X-ray, magnetic field, drop, and wear, so it can reliably protect data even in extreme external environments.
