Super Micro Computer, a global leader in total IT solutions, today announced the preview of its new X14 server platform.
Supermicro has fully upgraded its X14 server, which was successfully launched in June 2024, with the latest technology to maximize performance for compute-intensive workloads and applications.
The new X14 server supports up to 256 P-cores in a single node, up to 8800MT/s of memory, and next-generation MRDIMM compatible with next-generation SXM, OAM, and PCIe GPUs.
The configuration accelerates AI and computing, saving time for tasks such as large-scale AI training, high-performance computing, and complex data analysis. Supermicro said it is offering early access to the new servers to some customers.
“With the X14 redesign, we’re ready to deliver at rack scale,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro. “The server is available with the industry’s most comprehensive suite of direct-to-chip liquid cooling, rack and integrated connectivity services.”
Additionally, with global manufacturing capabilities and the ability to produce up to 5,000 racks per month, including 1,350 liquid-cooled racks, Supermicro will provide reduced delivery times and reduced TCO, he added.
The redesigned X14 server features a new 10U and multi-node form factor to support next-generation GPUs and higher-density CPUs. Its architecture is rebuilt with enhanced memory slot configurations that allow 12 memory channels per CPU and next-generation MRDIMMs that deliver up to 37% higher memory performance.
Supermicro has added more than a dozen new servers to its X14 family, some of which boast new architectures aimed at three specific workloads. △Includes GPU-optimized platform △High-density computing multi-node △Verified hyper rack mount, etc.
Supermicro X14 performance-optimized systems will support the upcoming Intel Xeon 6900 series processors with P-cores, with socket compatibility to support the upcoming Intel Xeon 6900 series processors with E-cores in Q1 2025.
“The new Intel Xeon 6900 series processor with P-cores is our most powerful processor ever, delivering new levels of performance for AI and compute-intensive workloads with more cores and unprecedented memory bandwidth and I/O,” said Ryan Tabrah, Intel vice president and general manager of the Xeon 6 Products Division. “Our continued partnership with Supermicro will develop the industry’s most powerful systems, ready to meet the ever-growing demands of modern AI and high-performance computing.”
