Ensuring reliability with packaging that prevents fine dust contamination STMicroelectronics today introduced the LPS22HH, an accurate and reliable MEMS piezoelectric absolute pressure sensor that eliminates the need for one-point calibration (OPC) after soldering, increasing customer productivity and efficiency.

STMicroelectronics LPS22HH The LPS22HH has noise characteristics equivalent to 5 cm, enhancing control functions such as collision avoidance for unmanned vehicles such as drones. Accuracy enhances features such as indoor navigation in smartphones and sports watches.
Additionally, built-in temperature compensation reduces the load on the host microcontroller or application processor, saving energy and enabling stable operation across the entire temperature range.
It also improves the performance of devices such as gas meters, meteorological observation equipment, and wearable devices because it provides high stability over a wide range of operating conditions.
The LPS22HH leverages ST’s latest advances in MEMS structures and ASIC control to deliver performance benefits, while its proven full-molded package technology with miniaturized pores that prevent particulate contamination ensures reliability.
Energy-saving features such as a 0.9µA power-down mode and low active power consumption, consuming only 4µA per Hz, maximize battery operating time with temperature compensation included.
A 2-wire sensor-bus interface supporting I2C, SPI, and MIPI I3CSM provides flexible digital connectivity, and a high-capacity 128-bit FIFO for storing sensor data is also supported, minimizing host intervention.
The LPS22HH is in production now in a 2 x 2 x 0.76mm 10-lead HLGA package, with pricing starting at $1.55 for orders of 1,000 pieces.
