Establishment of a branch in Korea, continued expansion of presence in the Asia Pacific region

Cloudflare, which provides security, performance, and stability for a better Internet environment, has established a branch in Korea and appointed Kim Do-gyun as the first branch manager.
Cloudflare announced the establishment of a branch office in Korea on the 8th. Cloudflare plans to further strengthen its position in the Asia Pacific region with the newly opened Seoul branch office, following its Asia Pacific headquarters located in Singapore and branches in Beijing, Sydney, and Tokyo.
Cloudflare Korea plans to focus on securing and supporting domestic customers, as well as increasing brand awareness and recruiting new talent in the Korean market. In addition, Cloudflare announced that it has appointed Do-Kyun Kim, a tech expert with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, as the first CEO to lead the new Korean branch.
“Korea is a hub of innovation and technology, and is one of the most connected countries in the world,” said Jonathon Dixon, vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific, Japan and China at Cloudflare. “Therefore, it was a natural choice for Cloudflare to choose Korea as the next region for its Asian branch expansion,” he explained.
He added, “Cloudflare’s Korean branch and team will be able to provide customers with more seamless service while helping more businesses and users enjoy a safe, reliable, private, and secure Internet environment in Korea and around the world.”
Cloudflare’s global network currently spans 275 cities in over 100 countries, including 95 cities in the Asia-Pacific region. Cloudflare plans to continue expanding its global network and further expand in the Asia-Pacific region. Powering millions of Internet assets on its network, Cloudflare already counts Neowiz, B.MyFriends, EJN, TeamBlackbird, HyperConnect, and Radish Media Inc. as its customers in Korea. In addition, it is working with several partners, including Megazone Cloud and Bespin Global, to support domestic customers.
Kim Do-gyun, the first representative of Cloudflare Korea, will lead all domestic business and sales activities.
“With over 96% of the Korean population connected to the internet, Korea is home to a thriving startup community as well as some of the world’s largest manufacturers and tech companies,” said Kim Do-gyun, CEO. “With such a high level of connectivity and business acumen, there is a tremendous opportunity for Cloudflare to build our team, brand, and partner ecosystem in the Korean market. He expressed his feelings, saying, “We will continue to work to support the innovation journey of domestic companies in the future.”
Meanwhile, Cloudflare has over 380 employees in the Asia Pacific region and operates offices globally in San Francisco, CA; Austin, TX; Champaign, IL; Miami, FL; New York, CA; San Jose, CA; Seattle, WA; Washington, D.C.; Toronto, Brussels, Dubai, Lisbon, London, Munich, Paris, Bengaluru, Beijing, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
