IDC MarketScape Report Selects Equinix
Evaluation of Data Center Service Providers Worldwide
Equinix, a company that provides digital infrastructure around the world, announced on the 3rd that it was selected as a leader for its comprehensive platform capabilities and strategies in the 'IDC MarketScape: 2023 Worldwide Data Center Service Provider Assessment' report published by global market research firm IDC.
The IDC MarketScape assessment is designed to assess the current and future capabilities of the world's leading colocation and interconnection service providers and to comprehensively analyze enterprise digital infrastructure requirements and key industry milestones.
The IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to understand the competitiveness of ICT vendors in a specific market. The research methodology is used to represent each vendor's market position in a single graphic, employing a rigorous scoring method based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria.
The capability score measures the supplier's offering, go-to-market, and short-term business execution, while the strategy score measures how well the supplier's strategy aligns with customer needs over a three- to five-year period. Supplier market share is indicated by icon size.
According to IDC MarketScape, data center providers are a key node in hybrid and multicloud networking and have emerged as a hub for a variety of cloud-based digital infrastructure services.
“We are delighted that Equinix has once again been named a leader in the IDC MarketScape,” said Jang Hye-deok, Equinix Korea Country Manager. “As the importance of digital infrastructure is growing, our previous global technology trend survey report showed that domestic companies are burdened with significant IT infrastructure in particular.”
“Equinix provides an interconnected digital infrastructure and a diverse portfolio of data centers to support enterprises’ efficient business operations,” said CEO Jang.
“It’s increasingly clear that digital infrastructure is critical to enabling enterprises to innovate, enter new markets and differentiate,” said Tiffany Osias, vice president of global colocation services. “We’re focused on helping our customers achieve results faster and easier by providing a global platform that allows them to interconnect and deploy infrastructure at the speed of software.”
“Equinix has a 25-year track record of excellence and is an essential platform for interconnecting network operators, cloud companies, and other digital service providers,” said Courtney Munroe, group vice president, IDC Telecommunications Research. “Equinix continues to enhance its platform and expand into key markets to help businesses optimize and sustainably operate their digital infrastructure.”
