Lenovo Korea is launching the 'ThinkStation P8' equipped with the AMD Threadripper Pro 7000 WX series, which is armed with up to 96 cores and 192 threads, and is making full-scale attacks on the workstation market that requires high-performance computing capabilities such as AI workloads and video rendering and simulation that require high specifications.

Lenovo held a press conference on the 26th and announced the launch of the 'ThinkStation P8' desktop workstation, which combines Lenovo's outstanding reliability and innovation with AMD and Nvidia's innovative computing architecture.

The ThinkStation P8 is equipped with the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7000 WX series processor that uses the Zen 4 architecture based on the 5nm process.

Supporting up to 96 cores and 192 threads, the highest number among single-socket processors, the ThinkStation P8 is ideal for data-intensive tasks such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows, software development projects, and product lifecycle management, as well as media and entertainment applications that can handle complex rendering and VFX workloads.

Same British luxury as the ThinkStation range launched last year It applied a chassis designed in partnership with the sports car brand ‘Aston Martin’.

The sleek, rugged, rack-optimized chassis offers Platinum-grade power options to handle more demanding expansion needs.

Supporting up to three NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation and AMD Radeon Pro GPUs, it delivers the performance needed for demanding AI workloads, including data science and generative AI using large language models (LLMs), and AI-powered visualization.

It can also reduce task times for graphics-intensive applications such as real-time ray tracing, video rendering, simulation, and computer-aided design (CAD).

The ThinkStation P8 also boasts outstanding flexibility and expandability. It provides a total of seven PCIe slots, including six PCI Gen 5 slots for increased connection speed and expandability.

Up to 7 M.2 PCIe 4th generation SSDs with RAID support, up to 3 HDDs for large-capacity storage, and up to 1 TB of DDR5 memory supporting octa-channel can be installed.

Built-in 10-gigabit Ethernet eliminates network bottlenecks. Users can directly set detailed specifications to optimal components and easily replace components without separate tools.

The ThinkStation P8 can monitor built-in hardware through ThinkStation Diagnostics Software. Lenovo Performance Tuner helps optimize ISV (Independent Software Vendor) applications. Enhanced security with Lenovo ThinkShield security services that provide comprehensive security from BIOS to cloud.

“As workflows become more complex and data-intensive tasks increase, professionals like architects, engineers, visual artists and AI model developers are looking for powerful, reliable workstations,” said Shin Kyu-sik, CEO of Lenovo Korea. “Designed to deliver powerful performance and outstanding expandability, the ThinkStation P8 opens up new possibilities for professional tasks like AR and VR content creation and advanced AI model development, and will accelerate the transformation brought about by generative AI.”

He added, “With the industry’s broadest AMD workstation portfolio, we expect to support customers across the board, from entry-level to high-end performance needs.”
