Synology Doubles B2B Sales in 5 Years
C2 Surveillance Station New Product Selection
Enterprise-grade application blueprint
As network-attached storage (NAS)-based IT team operations and business utilization become essential for effective collaboration and data continuity, the need for efficient storage solutions is increasing due to corporate budget constraints.
Synology held a 2024 press conference at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Seoul on the 10th.
At this conference, Synology unveiled its enterprise-level application development blueprint for the first time in Korea, and as a NAS specialist company, it announced that its B2B sales in the domestic market have more than doubled since 2019, and its overall sales have grown by 40%.
Seok Mi-eun, Senior Sales Manager at Synology, introduced new products scheduled for software updates and releases, including the all-in-one backup solution ActiveProtect Appliance, scale-out storage solution, cloud video surveillance solution C2 Surveillance Station, and AI productivity tools.
The ActiveProtect series simplifies deployment and scaling challenges with a streamlined interface that can protect multi-server environments of up to 2,500 servers across multiple sites. In addition, it provides data immutability and retention policies that ensure business continuity in the event of a ransomware attack.
“We are confident that this multi-site friendly system will fit well with the Korean business structure,” said Manager Seok Mi-eun. “It will be a reliable tool for IT departments to ensure data security in the Korean market, which focuses on data recovery and immutability.”
Synology scale-out solutions, currently in development for large-scale, non-stop data management, provide storage that supports both file and object storage, as well as performance improvements when adding storage servers.
In addition, the company announced the launch of the C2 Surveillance Station, an expandable solution combined with the C2 camera product line for physical security, and announced that it supports stable monitoring even in environments without a local recording server. It emphasized that simultaneous monitoring is possible without bandwidth restrictions based on the cloud, and that it provides video leak security through encryption keys and complies with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 TypeⅡ regulations.
Synology Office Suite has been released as a Synology SW solution. As a solution for team collaboration and on-premises productivity, Seok Manager said, “Office Suite APIs allow for integration with existing systems, and optimized workflows enable automation and security compliance.” He added, “Generative AI support will be applied, and RAG references for increased precision, AI consoles for troubleshooting shadow AI issues, and permission monitoring will be provided.”
▲Joanne Wong, Synology International Business Director
“This year, about 40% of enterprise applications have begun to integrate conversational AI, and 30% of enterprises plan to introduce AI technology into their product development next year,” said Joanne Wong, Director of International Business at Synology. “More than 70% of enterprise IT teams cite budget constraints as the most pressing challenge they face, which in turn leads to a lack of confidence in IT teams’ ability to deliver business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.”
CEO Joan introduced customer cases such as Hanwha Asset Management, SK Shipping, and KBS as successful cases of conversion through Synology solutions, and emphasized, “Synology aims to strengthen IT and solidify industries, and to provide stable and reliable solutions.”
