u-blox (CEO of Korea, Kwang-Soo Son), a global leader in positioning and wireless communication technologies and services, is working to enhance the performance of athletes and sports teams using data.

u-blox announced on the 8th that it has recently formed a partnership with Fitogether, a Korean company developing OHCOACH wearable sports tracking solutions.

Trusted by over 350 football clubs in 44 countries around the world, OHCOACH has provided the highest positioning accuracy among GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) products in the EPTS (Electronic Performance and Tracking Systems) Quality Test Report conducted by FIFA, the international association football federation, since 2019.

The OHCOACH solution uses a tracking device worn on the athlete’s back to detect location data and transmits this data to a two-way platform that can be accessed via a laptop or tablet.

To maximize the value of this solution, ergonomically comfortable design and high data quality are essential. Size and weight should be minimized so as not to impede the player's movements.

Despite challenging design constraints, this positioning solution must consistently deliver accurate data in real time.

FitTogether’s sports tracker OHCOACH Cell product provides the position data of the tracked athlete to the OHCOACH service platform, and uses one of two u-blox GNSS receivers depending on the accuracy requirements. The u-blox NEO-M9N single-band standard precision GNSS module provides very powerful meter-level positioning performance. In addition, the u-blox ZED-F9P multi-band high precision GNSS module provides centimeter-level accuracy within seconds.
