The only domestic 5G dedicated 4.7GHz, 28GHz support
Samsung Electronics is accelerating its conquest of the domestic 'Eum5G' (5G specialized network) market by launching dedicated equipment.
Samsung Electronics announced that it has launched dedicated equipment for 'Eum 5G' in Korea.
5G is a communications network that utilizes 5G frequencies so that general companies other than mobile communications carriers can directly build 5G networks. Since last year, our country has been allocating 4.7 GHz and 28 GHz as dedicated frequencies for specialized networks and has been preparing for commercial services.
Samsung Electronics announced that the dedicated 5G equipment it is introducing this time is a radio base station and a compact macro, and that it is the first in Korea to support both the 4.7 GHz and 28 GHz bands, the only 5G-dedicated frequencies, and that it has applied NR-DC (New Radio Dual Connectivity) technology for the first time in Korea, which supports dual connectivity and simultaneous support of the two bands.
Samsung Electronics' 5G equipment is specialized to allocate approximately 40% of the frequency upload ratio to upload, which is twice that of a general communication network.
Additionally, by uploading high-resolution videos, AI (artificial intelligence) video analysis technology can be used to detect defective products in the production process, and on-site managers can communicate with the CCTV control tower using augmented reality (AR).
Samsung Electronics possesses a compact core dedicated to 5G networks, and can provide end-to-end specialized network solutions together with dedicated 5G base stations.
Samsung Electronics said that it is expanding its business into the global market by building a specialized 5G network for enterprises overseas and stably supporting differentiated commercial services suited to local conditions in each market.
“Samsung Electronics’ dedicated E-Eum 5G equipment is a product that combines our 5G technology and research results on enterprise 5G services,” said Jang Yong, senior vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Network Business B2B∙B2G Group. “Samsung Electronics hopes to discover various cases of utilizing the E-Eum 5G network together with domestic companies in SOC facilities, factories, educational facilities, parks, concert halls, etc., expand the commercialization of E-Eum 5G in Korea, and contribute to promoting the public interest.”
