KT announced on the 22nd that it has opened a 'Convergence Security Verification Center' that can verify terminal security and test the latest security vulnerabilities to strengthen the security of IoT terminals in the 5G era.
KT Opens Convergence Security Verification Center to Verify IoT Terminals

In the 5G era where hyper-connectivity is possible, numerous IoT terminals, including various sensors, are connected to the network and operate to implement smart homes, smart cities, and smart factories.

In such network environments, IoT terminals are exposed to numerous security threats such as hacking and DDoS attacks, so the security of the terminals themselves is becoming more important.

KT opened a convergence security verification center at the KT Gwacheon Tower to provide IoT terminals whose security has been verified in advance against such security threats.

The Convergence Security Verification Center can conduct thorough security verification from the design and pre-launch stages of wired and wireless IoT terminals, including products for small and medium-sized enterprises.

To this end, we will build a professional terminal security verification environment in the IoT field and perform systematic terminal security verification.

KT is launching ‘GiGA Secure Bot’, a terminal security vulnerability automatic verification solution. We developed a 'Secure Bot' to create an environment where efficient and systematic security verification can be performed.

Giga Secure Bot is a solution that can automatically detect security vulnerabilities such as authority theft, information leakage, and terminal remote control, as well as verify security functions such as terminal access control and account management.

KT plans to strengthen the security of IoT terminals to be released in the future by utilizing the Giga Secure Bot solution for security verification.

We plan to link the GiGA Secure Bot solution to the 'GiGA Secure Platform', an intelligent security platform based on big data developed by KT last year, to automatically collect and verify the latest IoT security threat information occurring on the network.

KT will also set up a ‘Security Threat Experience Zone’ and an ‘Information Security Service’ exhibition space within the Convergence Security Verification Center to provide visitors with an opportunity to directly experience the latest IoT security threat cases and introduce various security services provided by KT.

The Security Threat Experience Zone will build consensus on IoT security threats through hacking demonstrations that can occur in everyday life, such as smart homes, printers, and IP cameras, and provide response technologies and guides to strengthen security in various industries and service fields.

The Information Security Service Zone will exhibit and introduce security services, including KT's 5G security core technology, 'GiGA Stealth'.

“In the 5G era, where IoT terminals are applied to various fields such as autonomous driving and remote medical care, strengthening security is essential,” said KT INS Operation Center Director Kwon Hye-jin. “KT will use the newly opened Convergence Security Verification Center as a base.” “We will strengthen IoT terminal security to provide safer and more reliable services to customers,” he said.
