As security threats continue to increase through various channels, Menlo Security claims that effective browser security can be achieved through its cloud-based web isolation solution, 'Menlo Security RBI'.

Cloud security company Menlo Security held a press conference at COEX in Samseong-dong on the 30th to introduce its security strategy. CEO Amir Ben Efraim, who visited Korea for the first time that day, introduced the domestic browser security strategy, and Branch Manager Kim Seong-rae discussed the network separation strategy through the implementation of zero trust on the Internet.

Kim Seong-rae, CEO of Menlo Security Korea, said, “Unlike existing security methods, Menlo Security supports complete user protection by handling security threats in an isolated environment through a network separation method based on the zero trust principle.”

Ransomware and phishing are the most common cybersecurity threats. They have become more severe over the past decade, with recent malware using advanced attack (HEAT) attacks that easily bypass existing firewalls. Hackers' evasion techniques are not limited to email, and malicious code exists all over the web. Ransomware, in particular, has a high success rate in targeting users by smuggling the HTML of a website.

To address these threats, Menlo Security offers 'Remote Browser Isolation (RBI)' technology, a zero-trust Internet technology, to strengthen security.

The network separation concept, which has been proposed since 2013, is a fundamental method that expects complete freedom from malware infection threats. It aims for physical and logical separation to prevent internal leaks and external intrusions, but perfect security has not been implemented so far and requires enormous investment costs.

Menlo Security's solution, 'Menlo Security RBI', adopts a zero-trust strategy that assumes all codes as malicious content and processes them. Zero-trust Internet is a concept that replaces network separation, and is an innovative method that can achieve the same effect as network separation without massive cost investment and decreased productivity.

Menlo Security's web isolation strategy is a way to protect organizational infrastructure by processing security threats from external websites in an isolated environment. It ensures security by eliminating malware at the source. In other words, by running websites in the cloud, information from the web is not directly transmitted to users, and malware cannot access users.

Menlo Security offers a Zero Malware Guarantee of up to $1 million if a PC becomes infected after implementing Web Isolation.

Additionally, Menlo Security has integrated security capabilities into a single cloud-native platform. It provides a single interface for expanded APIs, policy management, reporting, and threat analysis by integrating SWG (Secure Web Gateway), CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), DLP (Data Loss Prevention), proxy, and FWaaS. It is based on an 'isolation core' and is easy to respond to traffic volume fluctuations based on elastic scalability.

Amir Ben Efraim, CEO of Menlo Security, cited ChatGPT as the latest cybersecurity trend. Menlo Security offers several features to help businesses use ChatGPT safely.

For example, you can start by uploading all the information to a separate browser, and you can also check the information to see if it contains sensitive information. You can prevent copy and paste and limit the number of characters to avoid accidentally updating information.

Amir Ben Efraim, CEO, said, “Menlo Security’s solution allows even large enterprises to safely use ChatGPT,” and expressed confidence, saying, “Menlo Security has never had a security breach in 10 years with 6 million users.”

Meanwhile, Menlo Security counts financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase and HSBC as its clients, and has also signed a contract with the U.S. Department of Defense to provide web isolation services to 3.5 million people.

CEO Kim said, “Unlike existing installed solutions, Menlo Security has a high potential to replace existing solutions as it can be easily verified with just one account,” adding, “Based on this, we believe that we will secure more customers in the domestic market in the future, and we will pay attention and actively invest in it.”
