COEX·Online 'Tech Day' held on the 7th, introducing representative AI technologies
Announcement of 9 major technology topics in AI field and demonstration of 17 research and development results

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) introduces representative AI technologies.

ETRI announced that it will hold the '2021 Artificial Intelligence Research Institute Tech Day' online and offline at COEX on the 7th. At this event, we plan to publicly disclose key research and development results related to artificial intelligence (AI).

ETRI will hold a thematic presentation on nine core technologies related to AI that are being intensively researched and developed at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, including autonomous growth AI-human understanding cognitive computing, and a demonstration event on 17 technology development achievements.

The Tech Day event is being held for the second time this year, following last year, and is hosted by the Intelligent Information Industry Association (ICAO) at COEX, while also being open to the public via an online link (www.etri-techday.com).

In 2019, ETRI established the vision of becoming a national intelligence research institute that will create a future society and established the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute as an organization to fulfill its core role.

This event will begin with the announcement of the winning entries from the 2021 Autonomous Growth Artificial Intelligence Competition hosted by the ETRI Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, and the researchers at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute will explain representative AI research results and technology development trends, thereby providing a venue for technology sharing and cooperation with AI-related companies, thereby contributing to the development of AI technology in Korea.

The nine core technologies being disclosed this time are: △Goal-oriented end-to-end dialogue processing △Autonomous growth AI-human understanding cognitive computing △Video behavior understanding △System SW technology for AI semiconductors △Artificial intelligence semiconductor-based artificial intelligence server, ArtBrain-K △Ultra-low power RISC-V edge semiconductor (SoC) technology △Elderly daily behavior recognition technology for human care robots △Drone simulation and cyber-physical system (CPS) technology △PON consensus Ethereum-based pharmaceutical distribution platform technology.

ETRI Artificial Intelligence Research Institute Director Lee Yoon-keun said, “Through this event, we will introduce the research content and major achievements of ETRI Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and continuously strengthen communication with companies by introducing the achievements of partner companies.”>
Last year, ETRI held the event online only, but this year, it will be held both online and offline so that a limited number of people can experience it on site. Thanks to this, not only those working in the AI industry, academia, and research, but also the general public interested in the AI field can freely participate in the event.

Meanwhile, ETRI's Artificial Intelligence Research Center has been evaluated as a leading player in Korea's artificial intelligence-related industry and AI research group by developing artificial brain Exobrain, automatic interpretation service Genie Talk, image understanding service Deep View, high-performance artificial intelligence semiconductor Aldebaran, future autonomous driving shuttle Autobee, and AI-based education service Genie Tutor.
