SKT will use its own AI technology to prepare various 'participatory' events to increase public interest in the Paris Olympics to be held on the 26th.
SKT announced on the 22nd that it will present various events and digital content to cheer on the Korean athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and to wish them success.
SKT is hosting an event where you can take photos with 'Team SK' players through the AI photo service in the AI personal assistant app 'Adot'. Using SKT's AI technology (AX Diffusion), you can take couple/group profile photos with national team players you want to cheer for, such as Hwang Seon-woo (swimming), Park Hye-jeong (weightlifting), and Oh Sang-wook (fencing).
If you upload your completed profile photo to Instagram, you can win generous gifts through a raffle, including chicken, pizza, and mobile gift certificates for the delivery app (Baedal Minjok). 100 winners will be announced every week for the three weeks of the Olympics (July 26-August 11), for a total of 300 winners.
If you register a cheering message for the player on the AI profile picture, you will be entered into a drawing to win Shinsegae gift certificates (100,000 won for 10 people, 50,000 won for 20 people, 30,000 won for 30 people). The event period is from July 18th to August 8th.
The 'T Torch Lighting AR Event' will also be held, allowing you to indirectly experience the moment of lighting the Olympic torch.
This is an event format that spreads the digital torch that was first lit by players during the last 'Team SK' inauguration ceremony through SNS channels. Fans can light the T torch by putting their hands together using AR (augmented reality) filter technology on the SKT official Instagram channel (@sktelecom).
Event participants will be entered into a raffle to win a variety of prizes, including the latest smartphones and AirPod Max.
SKT also plans to release diverse digital content featuring the South Korean Olympic team. Using special filming, short-form video content that captures training scenes that are not usually seen will be sequentially released before each athlete’s Olympic competition schedule.
Also, utilizing hyper-realistic virtual CG (computer graphics), unique and fun short-form content using athletes and the 'T brand' against the backdrop of various famous places in Paris where the Olympics will be held is expected to attract the attention of sports fans. The digital content can be viewed on SKT's official YouTube channel or SKT's sports YouTube channel 'SKLIKE'.
Meanwhile, on the 19th, content was posted on the channel of Jonathan, an 'influencer' with approximately 920,000 subscribers, featuring 'Team SK' players competing in various games. You can see the talent and wit of national team players that you don't normally see.
Kim Hee-seop, SK Telecom’s Vice President and Head of Communications, said, “I ask that many people cheer on the sweat and passion of ‘Team Korea’ players who have worked hard for a long time for the big stage,” and “SKT will continue to strive to create social value through continued support such as sponsorship of amateur sports.”
