Liquid Instruments Integrates AI into Moku Platform
Liquid Instruments, a leading innovator in reconfigurable test instrumentation, is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with test instrumentation to connect machine learning (ML) to the real world, enabling users to develop, train, and deploy custom AI models for real-time signal processing and experimental applications.
Liquid announced on the 28th that it is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the Moku platform, including a new device called the Moku Neural Network.
Users can now rapidly deploy machine learning (ML) models to physical systems for applications such as signal analysis, noise removal, sensor conditioning, closed-loop feedback, and more.
Moku leverages the processing power of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to offer a complete line of instruments, from bench essentials like oscilloscopes to advanced tools like lock-in amplifiers, all in a single device.
With the versatility of FPGAs, their fast processing speeds, and seamless integration with other Moku devices, the Moku Neural Network allows users to quickly develop and train their own artificial neural networks using Python and upload them to Moku:Pro devices.
Daniel Shaddock, co-founder and CEO of Liquid Instruments“The Moku Neural Network is designed to enable scientists and engineers to easily integrate machine learning into their experiments. Moku has always provided flexible, easy-to-use tools for advanced R&D. This latest release demonstrates the extensibility of the platform by adding new AI/ML capabilities via software updates,” said Eun.
The Moku Neural Network has an architecture with input, hidden, and output layers and customizable activation functions. It can accommodate a wide range of applications with sub-microsecond latency, up to five fully connected layers of up to 100 neurons each, and customizable activation functions.
Users can analyze up to four input channels in parallel mode or process time series data in serial mode, and process experimental data in real time through up to four outputs.
To help users quickly unlock the full potential of their Moku devices, Liquid Instruments is also introducing AI Help, a GenAI tool that provides quick answers to product questions.
This tool makes it easier than ever to explore and maximize Moku’s capabilities. Like many GenAI tools, it is expected to evolve, improve, and expand over time.
