Digi-Key celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 3rd.

To commemorate this milestone, Thief River Falls Mayor Brian Holmer has proclaimed April 3, 2023, as "Thief River Falls Digi-Key Day." Digi-Key employees will be recognized for their hard work and commemorate the 50th anniversary with a week-long celebration and company events throughout the year.

In the early 1970s, Dr. Ronald Stordahl discovered an untapped market for entrepreneurs and inventors like himself who needed small quantities of a variety of electronic components, ultimately spurring a technological revolution for electronics hobbyists and, by extension, the commercial market.

Over the past 50 years, Digi-Key has grown from its early passion to become a global leader in electronic components, providing digital solutions and tools to engineers, designers, and makers in more than 180 countries. Additionally, to expand our capacity to meet rapidly growing demand, we have completed the construction of an expanded 2.2 million-square-foot Product Distribution Center (PDCe), one of the largest warehouses in North America.

PDCe is designed with growth in mind, providing ample room to expand as order volumes increase, as well as to increase the number of new products available to meet customers' design and manufacturing needs.
