ROHM has developed a thermal print head that achieves the industry's fastest printing speed, and expectations are high that this will improve logistics and inventory management efficiency through high-speed, high-quality printing in the future.

ROHM announced on the 31st that it has developed the high-speed, high-reliability thermal print heads 'TE2004-QP1W00A (203 dpi)' and 'TE3004-TP1W00A (300 dpi)' that are optimal for barcode label printers used for label printing such as logistics and inventory management.


The new product is one that has significantly improved upon existing products in terms of substrate material, structure, wiring pattern, etc. In particular, for the heating section, which affects printing speed and quality, a new structure using ROHM's unique 3D processing technology has been adopted, realizing a printing speed of 500 mm/s, the fastest in the industry, which is approximately twice that of conventional models.

In addition, by forming a two-layer protective film made of high-hardness material on the head, the wear resistance and static electricity resistance during high-speed printing, as well as the resistance to corrosion caused by moisture or salt, were improved, thereby extending the life of the head.


This product will begin sample shipments and mass production in August 2023.
