SiWx917Y module, global RF certification, easy plug and play
Silicon Labs has introduced innovative, ultra-low-power Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.4 modules with global RF certification for easy plug-and-play connectivity.
Silicon Labs has introduced the SiWx917Y ultra-low-power Wi-Fi® 6 and Bluetooth® LE 5.4 module.
This module is designed to help device manufacturers streamline complex development and certification processes.
The SiWx917Y module provides robust wireless connectivity and advanced security. It also includes a fully-featured application processor. It reduces device manufacturers’ design challenges, product size, cost, and time to revenue. It is pre-certified to global regulatory standards and is equipped with an optimized antenna.
This module is ideal for smart homes, building automation, medical equipment, industrial sensors, and more. The SiWx917Y module integrates a variety of features including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth LE 5.4, and an ARM Cortex-M4 processor. Key features include ultra-low-power Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, dual-core architecture, and Matter protocol support. Integrated antennas and RF pins, as well as worldwide RF certifications, are also included.
This module features smart power management features. With a target wake-up time (TWT) and a 60-second sleep hold interval, the current consumption is only 20μA. It can extend the battery life of IoT devices such as smart locks, thermostats, and smart cameras. It implements sophisticated edge processing functions through the integrated ARM Cortex-M4 processor and large memory.
It supports SiWG917Y for SoC (wireless MCU) mode and SiWN917Y for NCP (Network Co-processor) mode. Users can run application code on the ARM Cortex-M4 core or run desired applications on a separate MCU.
The rise of IoT devices is driving demand for efficient and secure Wi-Fi solutions. Silicon Labs’ SiWx917Y module is designed to address energy efficiency, security and ease of development.
The SiWx917Y module is generally available now. For more information, visit the Silicon Labs website.
