DF-10plus·DF-15·DF-15plus immediate discontinuation of use
Some Electroforce Force Zero black box auxiliary batteries have been recommended to be discontinued due to fires occurring in the products.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (President Lee Sang-hoon) and the Korea Consumer Agency (President Lee Hee-sook) issued a consumer safety alert on the 22nd, recommending that consumers immediately stop using some models (DF-10plus, DF-15, DF-15plus) of black box auxiliary batteries manufactured by Electroforce, as fires have occurred in them.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology has begun investigating the cause of the fire accidents related to some models of black box auxiliary batteries (DF-10plus, DF-15, DF-15plus) manufactured by Electroforce, following numerous reports from consumer agencies, online communities (Bobaedream), and fire departments. It was confirmed that all batteries used in this black box auxiliary battery were imported.
In particular, it was revealed that if illegal or defective products are identified during the investigation process, they plan to immediately take recall measures, such as product recall.
In addition, to prevent fire, consumers who have installed the model in their vehicles are asked to immediately disconnect the power input/output cables from the main unit and stop using them. If it is difficult to disconnect/remove them directly, they are asked to visit the installation store where the auxiliary battery was installed and take action.
The target models for measures can be confirmed through the press release menu of the Product Safety Information Center (www.safetykorea.kr), Korea Consumer Agency website (www.kca.go.kr), and Consumer Hazard Surveillance System (www.ciss.go.kr).
