Waterproof, dustproof, drop-proof design up to 3 meters
Protecting data of creators who work outside
It is always important to have a solution that protects data from physical shocks that may occur in daily life and prevents data loss.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it has released the 'T7 Shield', a portable SSD with industry-leading performance and durability. The T7 Shield is the successor to the 2020 CES Innovation Award winner, the T7 Touch.
Samsung Portable SSD is the first to feature IP65-rated water and dust resistance, and has enhanced durability to withstand drops from up to 3 meters.
The T7 Shield, the most durable of Samsung's portable SSDs, can be used without worrying about data loss even when exposed to shocks in everyday life, so it can be used with confidence by users who are active outdoors or creators who create high-definition content.
The T7 shield, which supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, supports sequential read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1,000 MB/s for the 2 TB model.
Samsung Electronics has improved the performance degradation and heat generation that occur when transferring large files in existing portable SSDs, which consumers found inconvenient, by optimizing the design so that data can be transferred stably without performance degradation even when performing large-capacity tasks such as recording and editing high-definition videos.
The T7 Shield is compatible with a variety of devices, including PCs, Macs, Android-based smartphones, and game consoles, and comes with two USB Type-C cables (C-to-C, C-to-A).
Samsung Electronics has strengthened security by implementing 256-bit AES hardware encryption to ensure that data is safely protected even in case of loss.
Additionally, it provides convenient management functions such as product performance check and firmware update through Samsung Magician software.
The T7 Shield reduces packaging material by one-third compared to its predecessor, the T5, and also minimizes greenhouse gas emissions during the manufacturing process.
Samsung Electronics Memory Business Division Brand“The T7 Shield is a product with excellent performance and durability, making it the optimal choice for users who enjoy various outdoor activities or creators who produce high-quality content,” said Lee Kyu-young, managing director of the PoomBiz team. “Users will be able to focus on important tasks based on its compatibility with various devices including PCs, Android-based smartphones, and game consoles, as well as enhanced security features.”
Samsung Electronics has sequentially released the 'T7 Shield' worldwide since April 26th, and detailed information about the product can be found on the Samsung Electronics website (https://samsung.com/portable-ssd).
