CES, which had about 4,400 companies participating in 2020 before COVID-19, remained at around 1,490 to 1,900 companies for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but has mostly recovered to its previous size with about 3,500 companies participating since last year. This year, it is expected to be held on the largest scale ever with over 4,000 companies participating.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA announced on the 8th that the largest integrated Korean pavilion ever will be built at CES 2024 in the U.S., which will be held for four days starting on the 9th.
CES is the world's largest ICT and home appliance exhibition, and has recently expanded its scope to include mobility, health, and beauty. This year, it is expected that many Chinese companies will participate, making it the largest CES ever.
In Korea, around 760 companies, including large corporations such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and SK, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, participated, achieving the largest scale ever.
In particular, this year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Seoul Metropolitan Government will participate in the CES Integrated Korea Pavilion for the first time, and a total of 32 organizations and 443 companies will participate, creating the largest integrated Korea Pavilion ever.
The number of Korean companies that won the 'CES Innovation Awards' is also the highest ever, with 143 domestic companies out of the 310 award-winning companies announced in November last year, accounting for about 46%.
