'Washable sterilizing dust collection filter' that can be washed and reused with water without periodic replacement
Samsung Electronics has been recognized as a new technology for its technology to wash and reuse air purifier filters with water without periodic replacement.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th that it had received the 'New Excellent Technology (NET)' certification for its air purifier filter technology from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Samsung Electronics has newly equipped its Bespoke Cube Air Infinite line of new air purifiers, which were released in March, with a washable sterilizing dust filter that can be washed with water and reused, and the technology applied to this filter has received 24-year certification.
New technology certification is a system in which the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Technology Association certify the innovation and excellence of new technologies developed for the first time in Korea or innovatively improve existing technologies.
The hybrid electric precipitation technology of the washable sterilizing dust collecting filter developed by Samsung Electronics is characterized by generating high-concentration ions only inside the air purifier, effectively capturing fine dust and bacteria, while minimizing the generation of ions and ozone released to the outside.
This washable sterilizing dust filter has excellent air purification performance, including the ability to remove over 99.999% of ultrafine dust, sterilize over 99% of captured bacteria and viruses, and manage ozone generation to 0.01ppm or less.
This performance can be achieved by washing the filter with water without having to replace it periodically. It is maintained even when used.
In addition, the new product Bespoke Cube Air Infinite line is equipped with a photolytic deodorizing filter, which has the advantage of efficiently removing odorous substances by absorbing and decomposing them with photocatalysts and ultraviolet (UV) rays instead of the existing activated carbon method.
In addition to the new technology certification, this product received PA (Pure Air) certification from the Korea Ozone Ultraviolet Association in February, acknowledging its performance in reducing floating bacteria and viruses.
In addition, it has received AI+ certification from the Korea Standards Association for its customized cleaning AI+ function that analyzes indoor and outdoor air quality and purifies indoor air in advance when air quality is predicted to deteriorate.
Samsung Electronics DA Business Division Vice President Moon Jong-seung said, “We have developed a new electric precipitator technology that overcomes the limitations of existing technologies, reduces ozone generation, and does not release ions outside the device.” He added, “We will continue to introduce products that improve consumers’ quality of life and contribute to the environment through the development of new technologies.”
