Use Samsung TV Plus, Gaming Hub, SmartThings, etc.
Samsung Electronics' Tizen operating system (OS) will be installed in the premium TV lineup 'Stellar' of Loewe, a luxury European TV brand based in Germany.
Founded in Germany in 1923, Loewe is a home cinema brand that has been consistently producing high-end TVs and audio for over 100 years. It is well known to luxury interior and design enthusiasts for its unique designs and use of materials, such as the back of the TV made of concrete.
Equipped with Samsung Electronics' Tizen OS, Loewe's Stella TV allows users to enjoy various services and content available on Samsung Electronics TV, including Samsung TV Plus, which offers free access to over 2,800 popular channels from around the world, Gaming Hub, and SmartThings.
Samsung Electronics Visual Display Business Division Vice President Yongsoo Kim said, “Tizen OS, an open platform optimized for the AI TV era, has been applied to premium brand Loewe products,” and “Customers will be able to easily and conveniently enjoy rich content and innovative services based on Samsung’s technology through TVs equipped with Tizen OS.”
Tizen OS is an operating system developed by Samsung Electronics, and is one of the world's largest TV platforms applied to Samsung Electronics' TVs, which have achieved the world's No. 1 sales for 18 consecutive years. As of 2023, it is applied to more than 270 million cumulatively connected Samsung smart TVs.
Tizen OS offers a variety of services unique to Tizen, including the latest apps, Samsung TV Plus, a free video streaming service, and Gaming Hub, based on its high market share. It also makes it easy to connect devices, as well as seamlessly connect experiences between various services and content.
It is a secure platform that protects user information from the execution of unauthorized malicious apps or external hacking through Samsung Knox.
These unique features of the Tizen OS are finding favor with global TV manufacturers who want to provide premium value to consumers.
Samsung Electronics plans to take the lead in expanding the open platform ecosystem by introducing the Tizen OS, which applies diverse content, services, and intuitive user interfaces, to a wider range of TV manufacturers’ products in the future.
