LG Electronics to Equip Electric Ranges with IoT and Remotely Control Them

LG Electronics has introduced a new LG Dios hybrid electric range (model name: BEY3GT) equipped with IoT functions. This product is equipped with wireless internet (Wi-Fi), allowing users to monitor the product’s usage status or control it remotely via their smartphone.

Users can easily check the status of the burner and turn it off or lower its output using the 'SmartThinQ' app on their smartphones, even in the living room or outside the house. Even if they don't remember whether they turned off the burner properly, they can check the status of the burner and turn it off with their smartphones without having to go back home.

LG Electronics plans to equip all of its new electric range products to be released this year with IoT features.

The new LG Dios Hybrid Electric Range is equipped with two induction burners and one highlight burner. Users can choose the burner they want to cook with, depending on the cooking method and type of cooking utensil. In particular, the induction burner can produce a high heat of up to 3,000 watts (W) without electrical work. High heat transfer efficiency reduces cooking time by 57% compared to gas ranges with the same firepower.

The new product has further enhanced safety by applying a 'dual overheating prevention system' that ▲ automatically cuts off output after a certain period of time after turning on the burner and ▲ has a temperature detection sensor that automatically adjusts output when the temperature exceeds a certain level.

It also has various convenient features such as ▲ ‘direct slide control’ that allows users to select the firepower directly through the touch panel or by sliding their finger ▲ ‘induction firepower indicator’ that easily shows the operating status and firepower of the induction burner with a red LED bar ▲ ‘lock function’ that prevents children from operating the product.

The new product uses black ceramic glass material from the famous German special glass manufacturer SCHOTT on the top plate, providing both strong durability and a sophisticated design. The price is 1.69 million won based on the factory price.

The domestic electric range market is growing rapidly due to the rapid increase in consumer interest in health. The industry predicts that the domestic electric range market will reach up to 800,000 units this year.

LG Electronics continues to expand its lineup of premium electric ranges with differentiated features, including wide-zone induction electric ranges and wide-type hybrid electric ranges. Recently, LG has started promoting the LG Dios electric range to domestic consumers by launching a TV commercial featuring famous chef Baek Jong-won as a model.
