BGF Eco Materials has finalized a contract to build a 50,000-ton anhydrous hydrofluoric acid production plant and is entering into full-scale investment.
On the 20th, BGF Eco signed an investment agreement (MOU) with Ulsan City for the construction of a new semiconductor material (anhydrous hydrofluoric acid) production plant.
Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid is a key raw material for semiconductors, secondary batteries, and general industrial fluorine materials.
According to the investment agreement, BGF Eco will invest approximately KRW 150 billion in building a new anhydrous hydrofluoric acid production plant.
The new factory will be built on the site of its subsidiary Fluorine Korea Co., Ltd., located in the Onsan National Industrial Complex (100 Ijin-ro, Onsan-eup), and is targeted for completion in 2026.
The production volume is 50,000 tons per year, which is half of the domestic usage.
In addition, in relation to the construction of this new factory, we have decided to cooperate with Ulsan City to create jobs and revitalize the local economy, including giving priority to hiring local residents.
Ulsan City will also continue to cooperate with companies and provide active administrative support, such as rapid approval and licensing, to ensure the successful promotion and stable settlement of this new investment project.
Hong Jeong-hyeok, CEO of BGF Eco Materials, said, “We are grateful for the support of Ulsan City,” and added, “We will devote all our capabilities to this new investment and continue to invest in related industries in the future to help the Ulsan region grow.”We will work hard to make it a hub for the conductor materials industry,” he said.
