ETRI President Bang Seung-chan appointed as the 19th President of the Korea Drama Association.

"I feel a sense of responsibility as I embark on the next 50 years of the Daedeok Innopolis."

President Seung-chan Bang of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) has been appointed as the 19th Chairman of the Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone Institutional Directors' Council (DRI).


The Korea Entertainment Producers Association held a temporary general meeting at the Daejeon Onoma Hotel on the afternoon of the 12th, put forward the agenda for the election of a chairman, and appointed ETRI President Seung-chan Bang as chairman.

Director Seungchan Bang graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Seoul National University and received his master's and doctoral degrees in electronic engineering from the same university.

Since joining the institute in 1994, he has served as the head of the Wireless Transmission Technology Research Group, head of the Wireless Communications Research Department, head of the Future Technology Research Headquarters, and head of the Communications Media Research Institute. He has been leading the institute as its 10th director since 2022.

In his opening remarks on the 12th, newly appointed Chairman Bang Seung-chan said, "I feel both honored and a heavy sense of responsibility to usher in the next 50 years for the Daedeok Innopolis, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. I will strive to enhance the nation's technological competitiveness by pooling the strengths of the organizations within the Daedeok Innopolis."

The Association was founded in 1976 to strengthen exchanges and promote the development of science and technology institutions within the Daedeok Innopolis. Currently, representatives from approximately 60 institutions are participating.
