Hosting a networking event for local anchor companies and entrepreneurs in the Gangseo Special Zone
Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI) has stepped forward to help companies in the Changwon Special Economic Zone build a golden network of connections.
The Korea Electric Power Research Institute held a networking event (Event name: Local Anchor Company-KERITOR Meet up day) for about 20 companies participating in the ‘Gyeongnam Changwon Gangso Special Zone’ project in Changwon on the 22nd.
Changwon Gangso Special Zone is a project that fosters companies specializing in 'intelligent electrical and mechanical fusion' and supports the entire technology commercialization cycle to secure future growth engines for the local economy.
KERI designates these companies as 'KERITOR (KERI+accelerator)' and carries out various entrepreneur support projects such as verification and advancement of corporate items, provision of investment and financing opportunities, and expert mentoring. Its main business is 'Innopolis Campus', which discovers and fosters prospective and early-stage entrepreneurs.
This event was held as part of the Innopolis Campus project and was designed to provide entrepreneurs with the networking opportunities and information on business support projects they need the most.
The program consisted of various activities, including: ▲Introduction of the open innovation (startup collaboration business) program of Doosan Energy, a regional anchor company; ▲Announcement of know-how on attracting 30 billion won in investment in the ICT solution field (Izpark CEO Kim Gap-san); ▲Introduction of the Changwon Industrial Promotion Agency's 2024 corporate support project; ▲Meet-up with senior and junior KERITOR companies; ▲Corporate matching networking (biz matching).
In particular, at the 'Corporate Meetup', senior companies 'Heatkey (CEO Kim Min-jae)' and 'Getz (CEO Lee Min-jae)' attracted great attention by introducing specialized items, such as a cotton heating element and an electric scooter platform, respectively.
In the networking session that followed, KERI matched items between companies based on pre-researched data and encouraged smooth technical exchanges and marketing partnerships.
KERI Gangwon Gangwon Special Zone Planning Office Director Kim Jong-moon said, “The Changwon Gangwon Special Zone networking event has been held every year, but this is the first networking event where regional anchor companies, local governments, related organizations, and senior and junior companies have all gathered,” and added, “Next year, we will prepare various collaborative programs so that regional companies can obtain a lot of information and build good connections that will be helpful for their businesses.”
Meanwhile, KERI is a government-funded research institute under the National Research Council of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
