“선배 가족이 남겨준 훌륭한 성과와 탄탄한 기반으로 인해 지금의 연구원이 존재하는 만큼, 우리도 미래 KERI 가족에게 자랑스러운 유산을 남길 수 있도록 열심히 달려가자” 김남균 한국전기연구원(KERI) 원장이 24일 전기연구원 창립 48주년을 맞아 가족같은 동료애와 미래 자랑스러운 유산 창출을 강조했다.
Declaration of 'KERITAGE' through the founding anniversary speech, including camaraderie and legacy creation
“As the current research center exists thanks to the excellent achievements and solid foundation left by our senior family, let’s run hard so that we can leave a proud legacy for the future KERI family.”
Kim Nam-gyun, president of the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), emphasized family-like camaraderie and the creation of a proud legacy for the future on the 48th anniversary of the founding of the institute on the 24th.
On the 24th, the Korea Electric Power Research Institute held a '48th Anniversary Ceremony' with employees and their families in the main auditorium of the Changwon headquarters.
In his founding anniversary speech, Director Kim Nam-gyun said, “We must go beyond the conventional concept of family and think of our research colleagues as another family, and run toward a common goal and vision.” He added, “Since taking office as director, I have communicated with the research staff in various ways and have tried to create a positive work environment in which we care for and support each other by establishing things such as the ‘Let’s Compliment Internal Bulletin Board.’”
Next, we prepared a place where the KERI family could congratulate each other by introducing new employees, people who got married this year, and employees who received major external awards.
President Kim continued, “We have made many efforts for the KERI family, such as encouraging the use of vacations and conducting work-life balance campaigns, and as a result, He announced, “We have received ‘Family-Friendly Certification’ from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family,” and urged, “Let’s work together with families in a wider range of ways, such as breaking down walls with universities, signing MOUs with related organizations and companies, and international cooperation, so that the research center can grow significantly.”
Finally, President Kim concluded his founding anniversary speech by suggesting a new word, “KERITAGE,” which is a combination of the name of the organization, “KERI,” and the English word for heritage, “HERITAGE,” and emphasizing the spirit of a sustainable family community.
At the ceremony, awards were given to the President of the National Science and Technology Research Council, as well as the Model Employee Award, Integrity Award, Long-term Service Award (10-40 years), and the Excellent Safety Management Research Lab Award. In particular, this year’s event, in line with the slogan “KERITAGE,” invited employees and their families, unlike previous years, to take a tour of the research center and enjoy a celebratory performance together.
Meanwhile, KERI is a government-funded research institute specialized in electricity under the National Research Council of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Science and ICT, and was established on December 29, 1976 to promote the Korean electric power industry and electric power industry. In addition to the head office located in Changwon, Gyeongnam, there are three regional organizations (Ansan, Uiwang, Gwangju) and a staff of about 800. The main business areas include power grids and renewable energy, eco-friendly electric power equipment, electric mobility and industrial application technology, nano new materials and batteries, power semiconductors, electric medical equipment, and internationally recognized testing and certification of electric power equipment.
