Expected to help small and medium-sized manufacturers strengthen their competitiveness by reducing costs

SK Telecom (CEO Park Jung-ho) has reached an agreement with 20 partners to provide a digital twin subscription service, raising expectations that this will help strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized manufacturers that have been struggling with digital twins due to the burden of costs.

SK Telecom announced on the 28th that it is launching the 'Digital Twin Alliance' with the goal of launching a 'subscription-based digital twin service' that will help strengthen the competitiveness of domestic mid-sized and small manufacturing companies and improve worker safety.

'Digital Twin' is an important technology that allows various simulations that need to be performed in reality to be tested in a virtual space by applying the same data and utilized for decision-making. Major countries around the world are promoting its expansion in various fields such as manufacturing and the public sector as a national project.

Our country's government is also promoting itIt was selected as one of the digital super innovation project tasks of the Korean New Deal 2.0 and is spreading rapidly, centered on the manufacturing industry. However, small and medium-sized companies are having difficulty introducing it due to the enormous initial costs required.

The 'Digital Twin Alliance' plans to present solutions to various problems in manufacturing sites through the launch of subscription services, including virtualization and monitoring of factory equipment and safety facilities, collection, simulation and analysis of process and safety data, and optimization of the operating environment.

In addition, the 'Digital Twin Alliance' announced that it plans to develop not only factory safety services that manufacturers can apply in a short period of time, but also manufacturing-specific services for various industries based on the know-how of alliance participating companies.

In addition, SKT is providing the world's best 5G and IoT-only network LTE Cat. We plan to provide the best corporate IT service operation environment by applying M1, cloud, AI, and 5G MEC (Mobile Edge Computing), and also support the development of the corporate software-as-a-service (SaaS) market and global expansion of companies participating in the 'Digital Twin Alliance'.

SKT and its alliance partners expect that with the launch of the service, small and medium-sized businesses will be able to easily adopt digital twins on a subscription basis, thereby increasing productivity and worker safety, thereby enhancing competitiveness.
