In the midst of this, 'SIMTOS 2022' was held for the first time in four years, providing a venue to showcase various exhibitions reflecting smart manufacturing trends. At this event, global technology supplier Korea Trump Co., Ltd. unveiled new laser processing technologies, automated facilities, differentiated portfolios, and newly launched smart factory solutions. Our magazine arranged an interview with Korea Trump's Managing Director Dongwoo Kim to learn about Korea Trump's differentiated cutting and sheet metal equipment and future plans.
■ Please introduce Korea Trump.

KoreaTrump is a company headquartered in Germany, and its headquarters will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023.

Founded in Korea in 1997, it celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and has introduced various products to provide cutting and sheet metal solutions in the Korean market.

Korea Trump consists of the Machine Tool Division and the Laser Technology Division, and provides various solutions across industries, including cutting and sheet metal, as well as automobiles and displays.

■ Reasons for participating in SIMTOS 2022 and what products will be exhibited

We wanted to participate in SIMTOS 2022, the largest exhibition in Korea, and create an opportunity to personally greet existing and potential customers.

This event showcases a full range of exhibits.

In the past, Korea Trump limited its target group to high-end companies, but recently it has been introducing equipment that covers the mid- and entry-level segments.

Accordingly, customers can access products ranging from high-priced to mid-priced.

Among the Korean Trump product line, the 3000 series cutters, lasers from the 1000 to 5000 series, and pipes from the high-end 7000 series to the 3000 series. You can meet.

■ Please introduce a solution for the gradual introduction of Korea Trump’s smart factory.

KoreaTrump's smart factory solutions can be broadly divided into hardware and software product groups.

Among the hardware groups, there is a representative product called Material Buffer, which is manufactured with the concept of an ultra-small automated warehouse.

Material Buffer is a warehouse-type storage solution that can supply raw materials and store finished products in the loading and uploading section. It can store 4 or 5 pallets, and in this exhibition, it is being presented in a form that can be used as 2 raw materials and 2 finished products.

This is a new product that has not yet been introduced domestically or internationally, and it has been about a month since its release, so there are currently no actual cases of introduction in Korea, but I understand that some efforts are underway at overseas headquarters. In addition, low- to mid-priced models are also provided to reduce the burden of initial investment costs.

It maintains the existing level of sheet metal technology, but is manufactured as an entry-level model, and applies the concept of a 2-day, 1-night operation, allowing unmanned operation for approximately 13 hours.

KoreaTrump provides solutions that allow users to expand according to their development stage upon introduction.

The software group is presenting a solution that simplifies the production process called Ocean.

Named after the blue image of the ocean, Ocean can improve productivity by up to 20% by digitizing production processes and material flows, and is built on the basis of existing MES systems.

It has improved the user interface and compatibility with third-party equipment, and is structured in three stages (Go – Grow – Flow), allowing for gradual introduction tailored to the customer’s situation, helping to reduce initial investment costs.

The gradual introduction of the Korean Trump has a structure that can adapt to various types of factories, but the Korean market is now in the stage of starting full-scale introduction, and for the time being, it is planned to be distributed in the form of a module called 'GO', which can be called the basic stage.

■ Korea Trump's differences and future plans

The sheet metal market has seen the emergence of many domestic and foreign machine tool companies due to the transition to fiber lasers, and overall, downward leveling has become the market trend.

Based on its differentiated portfolio, Korea Trump will provide systems and solutions covering all scales of HW and SW, high-end, middle, and entry-level for sheet metal processing professionals. It will also provide solutions that help customers reduce their burden and become competitive on their own.
