Combining Accuracy and Creativity...Supporting Enterprise AI Adoption
Semantic layer, ensuring data reliability and transparency
MicroStrategy improves business productivity by helping enterprises seamlessly integrate generative AI into their data applications.
On the 24th, MicroStrategy Korea (MSTR), an enterprise analytics and business intelligence (BI) company, held the 'AI/BI Symposium Seoul' at the Grand InterContinental in Samseong-dong and held a press conference to introduce 'MicroStrategy AI', which provides AI experience to companies by applying it to MicroStrategy 'ONE Platform', an integrated AI/BI platform.
The 'One' platform has a built-in chat assistant called 'AUTO', which allows you to automatically create visual analysis dashboards and provide analysis summaries without having to directly explore the data. The four main functions are Auto Answer, Auto Dashboard, Auto SQL, and Auto Expert.
MicroStrategy predicts that “the convergence of AI and BI will create new markets,” emphasizing the combination of creativity and accuracy as the reason.
“When leveraging AI, trust-based data analytics at the enterprise level is critical,” said Ronen Nystein, executive vice president and general manager of MicroStrategy Asia Pacific. “MicroStrategy is integrating AI and BI to enable enterprises to easily adopt AI technologies and integrate the latest technologies into their digital strategies with the accurate information provided by BI.”
Yangcheon Geum, CEO of MicroStrategy Korea, emphasized, “MicroStrategy applies a semantic layer to ensure high reliability and data transparency, providing users with accurate analysis results anytime, anywhere.” The ‘semantic graph’ is a concept that encodes business goals into a semantic state, allowing not only people but also machines to learn.
When companies make decisions, both novel ideas and accuracy are required. BI provides accurate answers through deterministic data calculations, but it is difficult to explain the reason because it lacks linguistic ability. On the other hand, AI has excellent linguistic ability, but may have low accuracy. In other words, it is non-deterministic and the answer to the question is likely to change probabilistically.
MicroStrategy said, "AI alone is difficult to utilize in business, so we combined the strengths of AI and BI in a 'one' platform." This explains that it is now possible to ask questions that require cognitive abilities and receive reliable answers. MicroStrategy's ultimate goal is to improve BI by utilizing AI. It helps customers and employees easily use it by distributing it as an AI solution, such as activating dashboards and accelerating question speed.
The key features of 'MicroStrategy AI' are that it provides an excellent user experience and assumes data integrity, governance, and security. It is also flexible, allowing data to be handled by any tool, and is available in the form of an open license. Vice President Ronen said, "The advantage of being open is that it can utilize and move nimbly with technologies from multiple clouds such as AWS, Azure, and Google, and by connecting the database, customers can use AI chatbots in the desired application with just a few clicks."
MicroStrategy says its prompt engine is becoming more accurate and, in the future, it will be the first to create a bot that can process both unstructured and structured data.
He also said, "We expect the Korean market to see a 30% sales growth, but it is still early days," and "We will pursue an aggressive strategy as we believe there is a large user base to target and great growth potential."
Meanwhile, MicroStrategy Korea, established in 1989, has had clients in all industries including public, manufacturing, distribution, and finance, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Hyundai Group, in the domestic market for 22 years.
