Universal Robots is taking the lead in fostering next-generation robot experts through domestic collaborative robot education.
Universal Robots, the world's No. 1 collaborative robot company, announced on the 27th that it had designated Ulsan University as the 11th Universal Robots certified training center in Korea and held a ceremony to mark the occasion.
Ulsan University has been designated as the first Universal Robots official training center in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions. With this center designation, Universal Robots will provide collaborative robot education programs to Ulsan University students and employees of local industries, and strive to foster robotics talent in the Gyeongnam region.
Through this agreement, we will come together to pursue the following: △student employment and field training, △joint development and implementation of industry-academia cooperation education programs, △deriving and implementing industry-academia cooperation joint research projects, △participation in school education, and △personnel exchange related to industry-academia cooperation research and education.
Universal Robots currently has 120 training centers around the world. To be designated as an official Universal Robots certified training center, you must have the appropriate facilities and equipment to conduct collaborative robot training based on Universal Robots’ guidelines. All official certified training centers are operated by local Universal Robots branches and partners, and provide collaborative robot programming skills training tailored to the level of ordinary people and non-experts with no experience with robots.
Lee Jae-shin, Vice President for Industry-Academic Cooperation at Ulsan University, said, “With this official designation as a training center, we will further strengthen collaborative robot education and work harder to foster specialized talent in the robot industry in the Ulsan and Gyeongnam regions.”
Universal Robots Korea CEO Naehyeong Lee said, “Today, when the robot and AI convergence industry has established itself as a major food source for the future society, collaborative robot education is a key element that is absolutely necessary for fostering next-generation talent.” He added, “In the future, Universal Robots Korea will not only pursue various education-related initiatives to prepare for the era of robots becoming part of our daily lives, but will also make every effort to move toward a society where we ‘work with robots.’”
Meanwhile, Universal Robots Korea operates official certified training centers across the country, including Universal Robots Korea (Pangyo Training Center), Seongwon Training Center (Gangnam Training Center), Electrics (Busan Training Center), Das (Suwon Training Center), and Samik (Daegu Training Center), and recently signed business agreements with Asan Smart Factory Meister High School, Inha Technical College, and Seoul Robot High School.
