AI-based model creation and simulation… physical factor prediction
Up to 30% improvement in data center energy efficiency
Cadence unveils digital twin platform to improve energy efficiency through data center virtualization.
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced today the launch of a comprehensive AI-based digital twin solution that accelerates sustainable data center design and modernization.
Cadence said its “Cadence Reality Digital Twin Platform” virtualizes entire data centers and uses AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and physics-based simulations to improve data center energy efficiency by up to 30 percent.
The platform helps data center designers and operators navigate the complex systems of a data center and address capacity constraints resulting from inefficient use of data center compute and cooling resources.
“Data centers are under pressure to prioritize sustainability and energy efficiency as they face the rapid growth of AI,” said Tom Beckley, senior vice president and general manager of Cadence’s Custom IC & PCB Group. “The Reality Digital Twin platform is a key enabler of data center design and operations. “We will optimize all aspects to improve energy efficiency, opening up a more efficient, resilient and environmentally friendly path,” he explained.
The Cadence Reality digital twin platform applies AI to model and simulate physical external factors that impact data center operations, such as airflow, wind speed, obstructions to air intake, and internal/external temperature changes.
Advanced Modeling Capabilities simulate a wide range of design scenarios and operational strategies to find the most energy-efficient solution for each data center.
It also integrates external environmental factors into the design process to enable flexible development as well as sustainable data center operation. It provides automated, detailed reports tailored to the specific requirements of each project, supporting an in-depth understanding of potential energy savings and efficiency improvements.
In addition, it evaluates the impact of multiple cooling systems on energy consumption in the data center, providing insight into the most effective cooling solution. Integrated with the latest Cadence Solvers, it enables high-capacity multi-domain engines with the same accuracy from chiplet to climate.
It also integrates with the NVIDIA Omniverse development platform, enabling design and simulation workflows up to 30x faster.
