Promoting collaborative intelligence-based business, big data utilization infrastructure construction business, etc.
The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI, President Shin Hee-dong) is establishing a cutting-edge robot base in Gangnam, Seoul, and is embarking on full-scale expansion of intelligent robot technology.
KETI announced on the 23rd that it will open the 'Gangnam Robot Plus Test Field', the first public robot infrastructure facility in Seoul, in Suseo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and begin operating specialized infrastructure for the spread of intelligent robot technology.
Gangnam Robot Plus Test Field is a two-building construction with an area of 5,950㎡ in Suseo-dong, Gangnam-gu, consisting of the Collaborative Intelligence Demonstration Development Support Center (Building 1) and the Meister Robotization Support Center (Building 2). It provides corporate support including demonstration development, employee training, and technical support through approximately 80 cutting-edge robots and related equipment, as well as research labs and training rooms.
The opening ceremony was attended by many key figures, including Lee Seung-ryeol, Director of the Industrial Policy Office of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, Lee Hae-woo, Director of the Economic Policy Office of Seoul, Shin Hee-dong, President of KETI, Son Woong-hee, President of the Korea Robot Industry Advancement Institute, Kim Jin-oh, President of the Korea Robot Industry Association, Ryu Jeong-hoon, CEO of Doosan Robotics, and Park Sung-joo, CEO of Yujin Robot.
On this day, KETI shared the core vision of the researcher-led robot business by holding a digital signage ceremony and business report for the Robot Plus Test Field for event attendees.
In the future, Gangnam Robot Plus Test Field will be operated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.·It is planned to be operated mainly through the collaborative intelligence-based robot plus competitiveness support project and the big data-utilizing Meister robotization infrastructure construction project, which are robot industry technology development projects supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Industrial Technology Advancement Agency, and Gangnam-gu, Seoul and organized by the KETI Intelligent Robotics Research Center (Director Hwang Jeong-hoon).
KETI President Shin Hee-dong, who attended the event, said, “It is very meaningful to be able to launch the Robot Plus Test Field together with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, which is leading the expansion of domestic robot supply, and Gangnam-gu, which announced its vision for a robot-friendly city.” He added, “KETI will implement a domestic smart manufacturing environment based on the core intelligent robotics technologies applied to the test field and actively support the entry of small and medium-sized enterprises into the global market.”
