A space will be created where you can directly handle collaborative robots.

Universal Robots Korea announced on the 4th that it has expanded its office and opened an authorized training center.

The Universal Robots Authorized Training Center is currently being operated at the Universal Robots Korea office that has relocated to Pangyo, and will be established in regional Universal Robots authorized dealers and partner universities in the future.

Universal Robots' authorized training center is an extension of the free online training platform, Universal Robots Academy, and offers a variety of offline training programs for advanced users and practitioners in addition to the existing basic programming courses.

Students can touch and program Universal Robots’ collaborative robots on-site at the center. The center also supports various demos and applications so that students can easily adapt to actual work sites. Training is conducted by instructors certified by Universal Robots.

Universal Robots plans to expand its training target group starting with channel partners and to this end, it plans to produce certified instructors through the curriculum of authorized training centers.

“As the working-age population continues to shrink and consumer spending patterns change, manufacturers have no choice but to have a short ROI,” said Kim Byeong-ho, head of Universal Robots. “In a situation where the present and future of the manufacturing industry are not bright, collaborative robots are the most effective alternative that can be utilized immediately.”

He added, “We will also provide effective and step-by-step training courses in Korea through authorized training centers,” and “Through this, we will expand the use of collaborative robots so that customers can obtain much more value from collaborative robots.”

There are currently 13 accredited training centers operating across Europe, the US and Asia, including Korea, with 50 centers planned to be established worldwide by the end of 2019.
