According to the auto parts industry, it has been reported that some electric vehicles have recently experienced product failures due to EMI.
For example, the air conditioner may not work if the electric compressor inverter stops working due to EMI.
In this case, there is no defect in the electric compressor itself, but a problem occurs when it is installed in an electric vehicle.
Also, it is not the case that all vehicles are affected by the problem, but rather that the problem occurs only in some vehicles while it does not occur in other vehicles.
When a situation like this occurs, the parts manufacturer conducts interviews with vehicle owners and conducts a thorough review of the product's parts, assembly status, design, etc. However, there is no problem with the product itself, which is increasing the concerns of the auto parts industry.
Industry insiders reported that it is difficult to apply electromagnetic shielding materials to battlefield components, and that shielding materials alone cannot completely block radio interference, so if such problems occur, there is no choice but to start over from the circuit design.
In particular, in the case of electric vehicle components, the parts industry's position is that it is virtually impossible to identify which parts cause electromagnetic interference because parts produced by multiple companies are installed in electric vehicles.

Accordingly, the automobile parts industry is putting all its efforts into developing technologies to resolve or block this problem, and it is analyzed that this will become a key factor in the success of electric and autonomous vehicles in the future.
An official from the auto parts industry said, “As vehicles become more electrified, we need to approach the production of parts that are completely different from the methods used for internal combustion engines in the past, and we urgently need investment in specialized manpower and research that can resolve electromagnetic interference.” He added, “To this end, rather than simply requesting error correction from the relevant parts company when a problem occurs, related companies need to put their heads together to find a solution to the root cause.”
