Promoting the creation and expansion of a leading model of cooperation between industry, academia, and research institutes in the future mobility sector
Developing excellent talent and technology for a large-scale AI mobility ecosystem The Korea Automobile Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as KARI) and Kookmin University (hereinafter referred to as Kookmin University) are promoting the creation and expansion of a leading model of cooperation among academia, industry, and research institutes in the future mobility field.
Hanjayeon announced that it signed a 'business agreement for leading future mobility and establishing an industrial ecosystem' with Kookmin University on the 3rd at the Kookmin University headquarters building located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
On this day, around 10 key officials from both organizations attended the MOU signing ceremony, including President Na Seung-sik of Hanjayeon, President Jeong Seung-ryeol of Kookmin University, Vice President Kim Hyeon-cheol of Hanjayeon Industrial Policy Research Institute, and Director Lee In-hyeong of Kookmin University’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Group.
Through this MOU, the two organizations will establish a close cooperative relationship to create and expand a new model of cooperation between industry, academia, and research institutes, and will continue to promote the training of excellent talent and technology development necessary for creating a large-scale AI mobility ecosystem.
Specifically, Kookmin University will jointly carry out projects related to the AI Research Institute, which is scheduled to be established and operated in Gwangju Metropolitan City, and will also work on large-scale AI mobility. We plan to carry out the following: △creating an ecosystem, △cultivating convergence talents, △supporting research and development and commercialization of core technologies, and △supporting startups and corporate growth.
President Na Seung-sik of Hanjayeon Institute of Technology said, “We will work with Kookmin University to create an innovative model of cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutes and work to spread it throughout the industrial ecosystem.” He added, “We will also focus the capabilities and experience of our researchers on fostering excellent talent, developing technology, and supporting companies to create a large-scale AI mobility ecosystem that is attracting attention.”
