SDV, penetration rate expected to surge to 90% by 2029, $419 billion by 2028

Seminar Hub, with the support of Autobein and ICCN, will hold the ‘SDV (Software-Centric Vehicle) Latest Technology and Issues Seminar’ at the Federation of Korean Industries building in Yeouido on February 21st.

Hyundai Motor Group announced that it will convert all vehicle models to SDV by 2025.

The company plans to introduce the 'Passenger Electric Vehicle Dedicated Platform (eM)' and 'PBV Dedicated Electric Vehicle Platform (eS)' vehicles, which are new electric vehicle-only platforms that apply wireless software updates as standard to all vehicle types.

also Korean and British companies, including Autocrypt, plan to conduct international joint technology development to develop wireless software updates (OTA) for automatic transmission electronic control units, which are important in SDV environments, an intrusion detection system (IDS), and real-time security monitoring solutions, thereby laying the foundation for leading the battlefield security market.

According to a report published by Deloitte this month, SDV penetration is expected to surge from 2.4% in 2021 to more than 90% by 2029.

Additionally, market research firm MarketsandMarkets forecasted that the SDV market will grow at a CAGR of 9.1% to reach a size of over USD 419 billion by 2028.
