PBV specialized zone configuration… Expected to perform optimized mobility role in business sector
Authentic Pickup Tasman, Emphasizes Satisfaction of Customer Needs for Outdoor Activities such as Camping and Freediving At a press day event held ahead of the '2024 Busan Mobility Show' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 28th to July 7th, Kia unveiled a camouflage model of the brand's first authentic pickup truck, 'The Kia Tasman', and a concept vehicle of the PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle), a future core business.
Kia exhibited three concept vehicles at CES 2024 this year, including the 'PV5', which is its first dedicated PBV model and the foundation of its PBV lineup, the compact PBV 'PV1', and the large PBV 'PV7'.
The PV5, scheduled to be launched in 2025, is planned to play an optimized mobility role in various business fields such as hailing (car calling) and last-mile delivery based on its size and spaciousness suitable for urban infrastructure.

The PV1, a model optimized for short-distance logistics transport, can minimize the turning radius in narrow spaces by using a driving module, while the PV7, specialized for long-distance logistics, is expected to provide the optimal transport solution through synergy between models as it offers the widest space in the lineup and has a long driving distance.
In addition to the basic PBV model, the company plans to break down the boundaries between workspace and mobility and launch a conversion model that can be used for various lifestyles and business purposes, thereby becoming a leading company in the future mobility market.
Inside models like the PV5, you can see the steering wheel moving upward. A Kia booth representative explained that this is an idea designed to allow drivers to relax more comfortably in the vehicle, and that the dashboard is designed so that it can also be used as a table.
However, he added that the PBV vehicles unveiled that day are concept vehicles as mentioned earlier, so there may be differences when they go into actual mass production.
At this year's Busan Mobility Show, Kia unveiled the exclusive camouflaged model of the brand's first authentic pickup truck, 'The Kia Tasman', for the first time in Korea.

The Kia Tasman
The name of the car, 'The Kia Tasman', is said to have originated from Tasmania, located at the southernmost tip of Australia and the Tasman Strait, which is called the 'Island of Inspiration'.
The camouflage design was inspired by the wild beauty of the Australian landscape and embodies the will to guide people into the unknown and beautiful landscapes while accompanying them on life's most daring challenges.
The plan is to satisfy the needs of customers who enjoy leisure culture centered on various outdoor activities such as freediving and camping, which are recently gaining popularity.
Kia plans to introduce 'The Kia Tasman' in the domestic and global markets starting in 2025 and satisfy the needs of customers who enjoy leisure culture centered on outdoor activities.
