Corvos Linux SDK Released, Revolutionizing Cloud Workflows
Elektrobit supports cloud-based workflows, helping automotive engineers and software developers accelerate software-defined vehicle (SDV) development with AWS.
Elektrobit announced on the 9th that as an AWS automotive software partner, it is releasing the Ubuntu-based 'EB Corbos Linux' software development kit (SDK) for free.
This SDK is an open source operating system (OS) designed for developing next-generation automotive systems and is available on the AWS Marketplace.
'EB Corbos Linux' provides the world's largest embedded Linux development community and meets automotive security and regulatory requirements.
Automakers can emulate software and hardware on Amazon EC2 instances powered by the AWS Graviton family of processors.
“EB Corvos Linux brings value to the development of advanced vehicle architectures by incorporating the benefits of open source,” said Yu Fang, co-founder of Sonatus.
“Seamless collaboration leveraging the AWS Cloud enables rapid development and delivery of customer value,” said Mike Robertson, chief product officer at Elektrobit.
‘EB Corbos AdaptiveCore' is an Adaptive AUTOSAR-based middleware that supports the POSIX operating system for high-performance controllers with enhanced security. It provides pre-packaged functions required for the latest software-based vehicle platforms.
'EB Corvos Linux' and 'EB Corvos AdaptiveCore' will be added to the AWS cloud, and Elektrobit plans to expand the development of safety-related applications with Linux OS solutions that comply with ISO 26262 ASIL-B and IEC 61508 SIL-2 safety requirements.
This launch enables automotive engineers and software architects to create custom OS images in the cloud using AWS’s powerful build machines, accelerating the development of software-based vehicle platforms.
