1,200㎡ scale, expanding customer support and collaboration
KLA Corporation has strengthened its presence in Korea through strategic investment in developing a professional workforce and expanding support and collaboration with customers.
KLA announced on the 30th that it opened a new Learning and Knowledge Services (LKS) training center at the Surplus Global Semiconductor Equipment Cluster located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
As part of KLA’s continued commitment to expand its investment in Korea, the establishment of this training center will provide local technical training and learning opportunities for KLA’s engineers and customers.
This KLA Korea LKS Training Center is the ninth training center opened by KLA around the world, and will be built in a 1,200㎡ space with various facilities for optimal collaboration with customers, including a classroom, clean room, and handler room.
Rollin Kocher, President of KLA Korea, said, “With the establishment of this training center, KLA has once again demonstrated its commitment to strategic and sustained investment in Korea.“Through this, we expect to further strengthen our support in Korea by fostering semiconductor and electronic device experts and strengthening collaboration and partnerships with our customers,” he said.
Through technical training at the training center, KLA Korea engineers can receive training in Korea whenever they need it, in line with the high-level training guidelines provided by KLA’s global LKS team. In particular, since the teaching staff includes Korean instructors, the training efficiency is expected to increase even more.
In addition to this LKS training center, as part of its investment in Korea, KLA Korea opened a manufacturing facility dedicated to flat panel display yield improvement solutions, featuring advanced manufacturing processes and a state-of-the-art cleanroom, in Cheonan on March 21.
KLA provides advanced process control and process support solutions to customers. As semiconductor processes become increasingly miniaturized, semiconductor manufacturers face the challenge of solving complex yield issues, and KLA is committed to strengthening its technical training capabilities so that customers can more quickly optimize their processes with KLA's world-class equipment and tools to improve yield and productivity.
