As the importance of developing cutting-edge semiconductor technology grows day by day, the academic world, which is the foundation of cutting-edge industries and new technologies, has rolled up its sleeves to nurture talent and attract industry talent by holding a job fair.

The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers announced on the 7th that the '2023 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers Summer Conference' held for three days from the 28th was successfully concluded. In particular, it was reported that the job fair held as a side event attracted the attention of visitors and received a great response.

The 2023 Summer General Academic Conference hosted by the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Korea was attended by approximately 2,000 visitors including those who pre-registered, and included presentations of research results in seven new emerging areas including communications, semiconductors, computers, artificial intelligence signal processing, systems and control, and industrial electronics, along with an exhibition and job fair.

The job fair, which was held for two days including the first day, included a special corporate session where companies were introduced and a Q&A session was held. The companies participating in the job fair as exhibitors include: DeepX, Sejongpia Co., Ltd., Laontech Co., Ltd., Furiosa AI Co., Ltd., Padu Co., Ltd., Qualitas Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Mobilint Co., Ltd., Open Edge Technology Co., Ltd., Laon People Co., Ltd., Telechips Co., Ltd., Silicon Mitus Co., Ltd., Hyundai Mobis Co., Ltd., LG Electronics, Next Generation Semiconductor Innovation Convergence University, Korea Basic Science Institute, and Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute.

Visitors had time to listen to introductions to each company's products and services, and recruitment consultations were also held, leading to a stream of participants heading to each company's booth. During the job fair, more than 1,000 job consultations were held.
In the exhibition and presentation sessions, △DeepX is an AI semiconductor that enables AI running on GPUs in the cloud/server to run on various objects, △Sejongpia is 'Feel the Life-like metaverse experience with real-time sound-tracing HW/SW&AI HW technology', △Laontek is the world's No. 1 microdisplay company leading the metaverse world, △Furiosa AI is 'Pushing the frontier of AI computing for a new world of possibilities', △Padu is 'We create future (leader in enterprise SSD)', △Qualitas Semiconductor is 'Total interconnect solution provider for fourth industrial revolution', etc. Various system semiconductor companies participated and shared their company introductions and visions.

Participants in the event responded, “This briefing session was a great opportunity to see each company’s strengths and vision,” “I was deeply impressed by the future direction of semiconductors,” and “It was a beneficial time to hear firsthand introductions from attractive companies.”

Meanwhile, this job fair was hosted by Seoul National University's System Semiconductor Industry Promotion Center, the main organization in the system semiconductor field, as part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Super Gap 1000+ Project Innovation Startup Package New Industry Startup Fostering Project.
