STMicroelectronics (ST) has launched a product that provides high-performance processing and security functions in a variety of applications, including smart sensors, smart appliances, and industrial controllers.

ST announced on the 19th that it has released a feature-rich development board that can implement various applications with the STM32H5 microcontroller (hereinafter referred to as MCU).

STM32H5 devices deliver high-performance processing and advanced security features for a wide range of applications including smart sensors and home appliances, as well as networking equipment, personal electronics, and medical devices.

The STM32H573I-DK Discovery Kit lets developers leverage the full range of integrated features of the STM32H5, including analog peripherals, timers, ST Adaptive Real-Time Accelerator™ (ART Accelerator), media interfaces, and compute accelerators.

This allows for easy evaluation of new designs for industrial PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), motor drives, and smart controllers for home appliances.

In addition, it can be applied to applications such as alarm control devices, communication hubs, and smart lighting control.Capable.

The STM32H573I-DK Discovery Kit is a versatile development board that includes an STM32H5 MCU, a color touch display, a digital microphone, and interfaces including USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi.

The board also includes an audio codec, flash memory, and headers for connecting expansion shields and daughterboards.

The STM32CubeH5 MCU software package contains all essential components needed to develop STM32H5-based applications, including examples and application code to simplify the development process.

The package is fully integrated into the STM32Cube ecosystem, which includes additional software to support application development.

ST also provides the STM32CubeMX tool to assist in configuring and initializing the MCU.

Launched in March 2023, the STM32H5 features an Arm® Cortex®-M33 MCU core running at 250MHz and is the first MCU to support ST’s Secure Manager system-on-chip security solution.

The MCU combines Arm TrustZone® security features with the STM32Trust framework to provide trusted storage, encryption, attestation, and updates.

They feature built-in side-channel protection hardware cryptographic accelerators and are targeted for PSA Level 3 and SESIP3 certification, which are recognized security certifications.

ST has prepared examples to enable the use of security services with the STM32H573I-DK Discovery Kit and integrated all the necessary software tools and support in the STM32Cube development ecosystem.
