[KES 2023] ADI Shows Off Its Capability to Supply Advanced Application Components

Supply of over 75,000 products for automotive, industrial, and household purposes
SMS, BMS, AI MCU, GMSL, etc. to be exhibited at KES 2023

Analog Devices (ADI) showcased its latest products used in a variety of industries, including automotive, industrial, and home, at the exhibition, and showcased its technological prowess that provides effective and economical differentiation in the development of major applications.

ADI participated in the Korea Electronics Show (KES 2023) held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul from the 25th to the 27th. At this exhibition, ADI displayed a variety of components that are essential across all industries, including automotive, industrial, and home.

ADI manufactures approximately 75,000 products and is preparing to produce 80,000 products in the future.

We also supply products to over 125,000 customers worldwide, and when combined with individual customers, hundreds of thousands of customers use ADI's electronic components to develop key products.

■ Smart Motor Sensor (SMS)



Looking at the main products showcased at this exhibition, the Smart Motor Sensor (SMS) is a smart motor sensing solution that customers can conveniently install and operate.

ADI provides these hardware solutions on a turnkey basis.

This product is a total solution that can optimize maintenance costs by reducing the start-up preparation time of the motor, which is a critical asset.

It is battery-powered and has built-in high-performance vibration, temperature, and magnetic sensors. With the sensors, it sends data to the cloud via Wi-Fi, and the motor shows 9 types of indexes. Customers can find out which items have problems and check when the motor needs to be replaced, etc.

■ 48V Battery Management Solution



The 6th generation BMS solution is a battery management solution used in mild hybrid products, low-speed moving vehicles such as 2-wheel and 3-wheel vehicles, refrigerators in offices and refrigerated trucks, and ESS in homes.

In particular, the 48V solution is a product for customers who want to enter the market quickly.

This 6th generation product is characterized by precision and reliability, and is the first in the industry to measure all cells in parallel and in duplicate.

The redundant method measures cell data using two sensors instead of one. Even if the path for reading a specific cell fails due to external circumstances, the cell can be monitored through another channel. This will help ensure reliability.

It also has the industry's fastest overcurrent detection function and employs an external FEC pass that can control the charge/discharge pass within 1㎧ even from outside.

48V solutions have a wide range of applications in automotive, daily life and industry.

■ AI MCU



AI MCU MAX 78000/78002 is an ultra-low-power neural network microcontroller that implements artificial intelligence at the edge. Built with an ARM M4 processor and a CNN (Convolution Neural Network) accelerator implemented with RISC-V, it is used in battery-powered AI systems that require facial recognition, such as industrial smart security cameras, home cameras, and retail store cameras.

In addition to supporting standalone applications, it optimizes low-power sleep mode for hybrid edge cloud applications that operate more complex systems for facial detection, improving power efficiency and extending overall battery life.

■ 3D Time of Flight


3D Time of Flight is a scannerless lidar technology that uses high-power optical pulses lasting a few nanoseconds to capture distance information of objects from a scene of interest.

It is used in high-resolution 3D imaging for industrial automation and internal logistics, mobile scanners in the logistics field and high-precision 3D imaging for consumer home automation, high-resolution 3D depth sensing and vision systems.

ADI helps reduce software data provision and development periods by supplying modules.

■ trinamic motor control demo


Trinamic is BLDC, provides solutions optimized for stepper motors.

Stepper motors have the advantage of being digitally controlled, and as a result, they have the characteristic of rotating 1.8 degrees per pulse. They are motors specialized for precision control, and compared to other motors such as BLDC, they have the advantage of precision because they do not require feedback.

On the other hand, since the angle of movement is fixed, shock occurs during operation.

Trinamic Solutions helps you move smoothly by controlling these things in 250 steps.

Precise control without shaking is possible at home in general solutions.

It can be implemented by simply connecting the voltage and motor that can be used on the board provided by ADI.

We also provide single-chip solutions tailored to the specifications you are using, such as MCU. It is mainly used in semiconductors, optics, and medical devices.

■ GMSL (Gigabit Multi media Serial Link)


A single-strand solution that can transmit all video in a vehicle over a single bidirectional cable supporting data transfer speeds of up to 12 Gbps. Used in automotive and various other fields, it provides a portfolio of lightweight ASIL certified solutions such as ADAS camera GMSL serializer, ADAS ECU GMSL serializer, display source GMSL serializer and display sink GMSL serializer.

Transmits high-resolution digital video reliably from camera to computer, and from computer to display, improving functional safety, user experience, and in-vehicle infotainment.
